I'm sure Kiley has ex-Bravesitis.Kiley seems to be ignoring shelf life. He's 30. How can a guy be a top 10 prospect or comared to Bryant with a shelf life of possibly 3-4 years?

I mean yeah. It was a lot to give up and I wouldn't make the trade, but it's an entirely different thing to suggest it wasn't grounded in reason.
You have no idea what Olivera is. You have never seen him play and you have nothing to base statistical projections off of. He could be a 15 WAR player for all the knowledge you have. I simply provided a reasonable high end projection based off what Kiley and Badler think he could do. We are all speculating it's just I'm allowing you to share your thoughts on his upside without telling you that you are unrealistic.
I think people are getting too hung up on 2017..... we could be a lot better next year if we have a good off-season and Olivera would be a big part of that.
I don't love the move, but adding a potential major-league ready bat for the next 5 years at that salary has a TON of upside.
Question on the pick we received..... we lose that if we have a top-10 pick and then sign a FA with a QO right?
Again - when you first saw the names of the Braves, you questioned whether we'd be getting both Olivera and Puig.
So clearly, you thought the value of our package was quite high. And you weren't wrong. Hart was
The problem is you don't have to make this trade to still sign a pitcher. It's not like this trade allows us to now sign a pitcher.
No he saw a tweet saying that and it was a fake account.
It's impossible talking about the Braves with you, all your posts are negative and passive towards thethe.
Well, rotation is Miller, Julio, Perez, Wisler, Folty, ManBan, Jenkins, maybe Minor.
Can certainly use another SP in the mix.
There's only 55 mil in contracts next year, gotta spend the money somewhere, not saying we're getting Greinke, Price, Zimmerman or Cueto but they have the money to do it.
I agree. I'm not as down on this as everyone else. I'm not exactly happy. I think it was a meh trade but the more I mull over it, the more content I am. I'm just ready to see what the guy's got.FWIW, BA has Olivera ranked as the #16 prospect in baseball at midseason. Not thrilled to trade away Wood, but I think Hart has earned some benefit of the doubt for the trades he's made so far.

to be fair, I like thethe much more than you... At least he brings something to the board - albeit its craziness
Yeah i should post negative posts and go at thethe all the time, and i'd be more cool, right?
FWIW, BA has Olivera ranked as the #16 prospect in baseball at midseason. Not thrilled to trade away Wood, but I think Hart has earned some benefit of the doubt for the trades he's made so far.

I dont hate the deal, just think we should have gotten more given what we gave up.
If it was just Wood, Avilan, Jimmy Johns, Arroyo, fine, i dont think we HAD to throw in Peraza.
Bad news on the $ the Braves are sending the Dodgers. It's $7.45m to be paid on Dec 10. So Braves are basically paying all of Arroyo's salary. This maneuver takes Arroyo's money off the books for 2016, at least. I'm afraid the trade goes back to "Wednesday night bad" instead of "Thursday afternoon kinda bad".
