You have no idea what Olivera is. You have never seen him play and you have nothing to base statistical projections off of. He could be a 15 WAR player for all the knowledge you have. I think people are getting too hung up on 2017..... we could be a lot better next year if we have a good off-season and Olivera would be a big part of that.

I don't love the move, but adding a potential major-league ready bat for the next 5 years at that salary has a TON of upside.

Question on the pick we received..... we lose that if we have a top-10 pick and then sign a FA with a QO right?

Well, rotation is Miller, Julio, Perez, Wisler, Folty, ManBan, Jenkins, maybe Minor.

Can certainly use another SP in the mix.

There's only 55 mil in contracts next year, gotta spend the money somewhere, not saying we're getting Greinke, Price, Zimmerman or Cueto but they have the money to do it.

Just because dummy Hart and his cronies have money available doesn't mean we are getting anything good. Just means they will overpay for average players.

Agreed - not sure why we had to include him. I wonder if it was a talent thing, or if we included him to get LA to pay more money.

The money shouldn't make a difference for any of us this year, as long as it wasn't prohibiting us from progress next year
