Peraza debuts for Dodgers

How the hell is Wood supposed to have logged 200 IP when he only had 24 starts last year and has only 22 this year?

:FrediWut:

Not saying Wood goes as deep into as the Aces of the league or anything, but if you average his numbers this year over 34 starts he'd have slightly over 200 IP.

When alot on here say he's a TOR pitcher, going deep into games is a main reason when you look at the top tier SP's.

They go deep into games, CG's every year.

Wood doesnt do that.

Cool. Until then he still has more trade value than Shields and has been better this season

They're pretty similar, near identical ERA's, Wood better by .3 ERA.

Shields has more K's, more IP, better WHIP, less hits given up.

Wood has less walks, less HR's given up.

So no, Shields has arguably been better this year or a push either way.

You cite ERA when Shields plays in Petco? lol

Yeah and i said it's close, neither player is way better over the other this year.

Woah. Let's chill. Shields has been way worse than Wood by most standards. Shields has a 112 FIP- to Wood's 93. Your argument is basically Shields being lucky is a push with Wood being unlucky.

And we're talking value. So even if they're basically the same pitcher right now, Wood is 9 years younger and will make something like $15 million less next year...which is why Wood is currently a very good trade piece while no one will give you anything for Shields.

It's not a discussion. Wood is way more valuable. Which you have agreed with, and also disagreed with. It's weird.

I've yet to see anyone call Wood a TOR pitcher since I've been on the board, even in the trade threads. Most consider him a solid mid to low end #2 starter.

A #2 type is a TOR pitcher.

There's maybe 12-14 or so #1's in all of baseball.
