2016 Presidential Primaries [ SUPER TUESDAY | 3-1-'16]

I really don't care about the cost projections. I will be voting for his policy goals.
Once the goals become closer to reality, then I will concern myself with what it costs

The ones not scratching the surface are Bernie and his supporters. Every time he starts to provide detail, sources (on left, right, and non-partisan) provide analyses questioning his math/assumptions/conclusions, and all we get back are "the source is biased" or "well, country 'X' is doing it," or even the vague "dude, see Bernie's going to change the whole model of everything, man."

still trying to stick a square peg in a round hole i see

still trying to stick a square peg in a round hole i see

No, Bernie is telling me what he is going to do to pay for what he wants. The problem is his numbers don't add up. There is no revolution that is going to change the laws of arithmetic. If you want to have blind faith, or do what 57 says and just worry about the costs later, that's your business, but don't act like I'm the one with my head in the sand.

no, i don't think you are the only one not understanding what a "political revolution" means

and i know that to actually have a political revolution it needs to change more than just the president but that isn't what this topic is about

I give up...tell me what you think it means

Bernie - here is my plan and here is how it's paid for

Non-partisan Analysis - you are trillions of dollars away from covering your costs

Bernie Supporter - you just don't understand political revolution

Goldy hasn't been able to get very specific on his likes of ol Bernie, or how is plan is attainable...

hell, nobody ever responded to the analysis I posted that showed that wages are growing, everyone is richer, thus making Bernie's foundation of thought wrong to begin with.

you pretty much have a blank slate

when we talk about a revolution

i am you don't understand not doing something totally different than the way you always knew it. imo, a revolution

My policy goal will be to make everyone a millionaire.

Don't worry about the costs... it's a great goal so vote for me!

You say that, but I don't see where Bernie is proposing some sort of blank slate.

He says he'll raise taxes on corporations and go after money stashed abroad - so that means we'll still have corporations.

He says he'll raise taxes on the top 1% - so that means we'll still have people working at those corporations, presumably at relatively high salaries.

He says he'll raise taxes on what he calls Wall St speculation - so that means we'll still have investment bankers making large financial transactions.

He says he'll raise the capital gains tax - so that means we'll still have relatively high wealth individuals holding capital (it's not just going to be confiscated).

What I'm seeing is a guy proposing to raise tax revenue through the existing economy/society to pay for HC, education, jobs, etc, but smart people analysing his plans are saying that his cash inflows are nowhere near able to cover the costs of his ideas. I don't see a guy saying "we're going to tear it all down and start from scratch!" If that's the plan, then why is he selling solutions to fit within the current model?

try it and see if any one votes for it
It is a great goal

A bit selfish but a goal no less.
Try it see how it goes

good luck

but smart people analyzing

would those be the same smart people that predicted ACA would doom our economy
or the smart people that predicted ACA would pay for itself in 10 years?

Or the smart people that think Obama is a Kenyan Manchurian Candidate?

Or the smart people that sold you the videos?
Now, they were smart because right here on this very forum a number of people bought that bull schit
I digress
...

BUT, we are talking about single payer
and discussing the nuts and bolts of how it will look.

That is progress

I mean... Bernie's plan to "pay" for his ambitions doesn't mathematically work. If you can't understand this, then there's no help for you

The funny thing is that the data clearly shows that bigger government favors big business and wealthy individuals... and Bernie wants to accelerate that. He's just so dumb
