CrimsonCowboy's 2016 NFL Mock Draft

Yeah, but what about Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Caddy Williams, Reggie Bush, Laurence Maroney, Moreno, Donald Brown, Spiller, Matthews, Best, Richardson, David Wilson, etc.

That's fair, but I think Elliott is ranked higher than all of those guys were, and is more skilled than any of them.

I guess if you think he's dynamic like AD or Gurley, you take him. Gurley was a man among boys in college, and it was pretty obvious. I think the same could be said of Zeke - and his pass catching is top-notch, too.

Injuries derailed several of those guys. Impossible to forsee that. But, in general, I do agree with not wasting a pick on a RB unless it's a special talent like Gurley or Fournette.

Personally, I don't see Elliot as that special of a talent.

I think many evaluators disagree.
And some have said he's a better prospect than Gurley, and the best since Peterson.

Actually it's not dumb. if you get a late first round RB you can control him for 5 years and abuse him and then let him go after the 5th year (5th year is option too)

You can also do it in much later rounds and have the same effectiveness based on the graph.

While, I agree that hitting on a world class RB would be great, a lot of it is a function of the OL and many people thought Bush, Brown, Richardson were world class RBs.

With Alfred Morris now in the fold, the chances the Cowboys take Elliott, while I don't think are zero, are a lot less. And don't forget, they resigned Lance Dunbar last week. They'll now take a good look at defense if Dallas doesn't go the Wentz/Goff route. Ramsey and Jack would be good bets along with Bosa (though a DE was signed today) and I wouldn't discount Hargreaves either for the Cowboys.

With the signing of Cook, I don't see the Packers going TE until the third day with a developmental prospect (Bryce Williams, Ben Braunecker, and Temarrick Hemingway come to mind) . Word out of Green Bay is that Thompson will be looking for a couple of OL prospects as well and you haven't done anything with the Packers' most noticeable weakness, which is ILB. With the two fourth round compensatory picks (which can't be traded), Thompson has a little more flexibility and I could see him moving around by trading some of his other picks to shore up some positions of need and getting guys in their appropriate value slots.

The Titans in all likelihood, will go OT/DB with their first two picks if they don't trade out. First pick will either be Ramsey or Tunsil.

Agreed Carp. I'm not sure I'd rather have. We really need to protect Mariota but Ramsey is the best player in the draft imo.

Both picks address areas of great need. I just think Tunsil makes more sense. Mariota is the future and you have got to keep him upright.

Plus CB is a very deep position in this class. Guys like, Fuller, Apple and Jackson all have 1st round grades, but at least one of them probably should fall to the 2nd round. Conversely, the top 4 OTs in the draft are all expected to go 1st round, and after that the talent level has a pretty major drop off.

I would be happy with Ramsey or Tunsil. I don't really want Bosa. He isn't a great fit, and his 49 time was not very impressive for an edge rusher.

I used to like Hackenberg, but watching him this year was brutal. He's the most inaccurate QB I've ever seen.

That wouldn't have anything to do with his porous offensive line?

I am not a fan of his either. Always thought he was overrated, but I think some of his troubles were a result of an awful offensive line. I did say some of problems. Not all. I do agree with sentiment that he isn't very accurate. The times he would get a clean pocket he seemed to almost always waste the down. He would make passes more difficult than they need to be.

I have a sneaking suspicion that someone is going to make a move for Paxton Lynch. I have heard that there may be one or two teams who like him a lot more than you would generally think. One guess is Philly.

I realize they don't have a second round pick, but if they truly are in love with Lynch (like I think they are) then there's no reason not to pick him at 8. Ever since Andy Reid has been there they have liked to get their quarterbacks. They signed Bradford to only a two year extension. So if they feel that Lynch isn't ready to play right away which would make sense, you have Bradford for at least this season and possibly one more afterwards. Lynch checks the physical aspects box.

So, who are your niners gonna take? If you guys trade Kap and then Cleveland takes one of the "big 2" QBs are you gonna take a chance that the other one will be there at 7? Are you gonna trade to work a trade with Dallas to move up to 4 (which has been rumored on some of the Cowboys boards)? What's your take?

It definitely played a part, as did Franklin's offense. But when you can't even throw screens the least bit accurately, I think you're a big project. I'd be fine with the Cowboys taking him in the 4th or 5th, but any higher is way too high to me.

Third time I am trying to post this. No idea what Baalke is thinking at this point. My guess is that the pick at 7 would be extremely lame and something fans would hate because that's shah he does.

Anyway my plan would be to trade down with the Rams if either Wentz or Goff is there. This is also assuming Myles Jack is off the board. The Rams have two second round picks I believe 43 and 45 overall. Maybe the 49ers add a late round pick to balance the trade out.

Laquon Treadwell at 15.
Eli Apple with second round pick a
Connor Cook second round pick b.

So you're not sold on Goff or Wentz? Can you guys really afford to let the highly rated Cal QB get away again?
