Georgia Religious Freedom Bill

no, the "government" hasn't " said they want to prosecute climate change deniers "

Please show an active effort .

Good for you and I (though of course a bigot) commend your effort to maintain what you perceive to be the high ground.

I'm willing to admit that it's my perception. Hope you are, too.

You're so attached to your own victimhood here that you call yourself a bigot when I've said nothing of the sort.

Go down swinging. Good on you.

Sure I am arguing in good faith. When issues of life are being debated I would expect a Christian to promote and appeal to a biblical view on life. I wouldn't say, "well, why are you cherry-picking?" Again, that seems just a rhetorical ploy.

Did I draw and undue inference from your "I'm biased towards strongly held beliefs that uphold the dignity, worth, and full citizenship of all, and would be inclined to support discrimination or intolerance—if you prefer—in certain cases in favor of that end. I aspire to respect for and tolerance of those who feel differently"?

So why are these discussions limited to homosexuality and gender identity? A consistent biblical view—in a particular construction—of sexual ethics would necessitate refusal of services on numerous fronts, yeah? Why aren't those things being discussed and legislated?

Because the LGBT crowd isn't pushing those fronts?

Want to give me some examples of what you are talking about?

If I believe that the intent and result of the law is a kind of discrimination that could be qualified as a legal fig leaf for bigotry, does that give me a window into the hearts and minds of individuals who support it? I can think that one is wrong, or misguided, without hanging a sign on them. I imagine you can, too.

Good. Thank you. I try to imagine that too. But it's a bit difficult when I read some posts about cooties and all...

I am more than fine with you believing that and promoting that idea to the public

where it crosses the line is where your religious view becomes law for everyone

whether they believe your religious view or not. that's the problem

Address what?

And why do you keep leaving out the City of Charlotte's role in all this?

Address all the other pressing matters of biblical sexual ethics that require immediate legislative remedy. You've suggested that I'm off base with this. I don't really understand. Your response is that it's in reaction to a political agenda being pushed by the LGBT lobby.

Sure, there is an active advocacy effort on that front. But there's also a shift in the way society considers these issues, as there has been with others, and laws are being changed to reflect it.

So why aren't there more visible efforts to legislate matters of conscience for Christians involving adultery, divorce, or fornication?

As for the City of Charlotte, I dunno. Seems like the legislature's response to a pretty modest issue of local preference was a massive rollback of legal remedies for all kinds of commercial and workplace discrimination.

My view was the law of the land. Then your view became the law of the land.

Hmmm. Maybe we should apply that template to other issues of social justice over the last century and decide which ones would benefit us to roll back. Any starters?

Bruce Springsteen doesn't like it that NC via it's gov't bans someone with a penis from showering in a public shower with girls and women. He's allowed that opinion.

Do a lot of girls take showers in public bathrooms? Women's restrooms have stalls, so I don't see a problem there.

What's actually worse in a woman's locker room, a lesbian with female plumbing ogling other women, or a trans-girlie man who likes men?

I'm curious. If you say a transgender man should be able to use the women's restroom why shouldn't he be allowed to play on women sports teams? there's no in between. He's either a women or a man.
