Customer shot dead trying to stop gunman at Texas Walgreens, police say

Gunfire erupted at a Walgreens in Texas on Monday killing a customer who had tried preventing the suspected shooter from driving away, police said.

The suspect turned himself in to law enforcement in Hill County, Fox 4 reports. Police did not name that suspect or the man who died.

Investigators say the chaos started when the gunman walked into the store in Arlington and confronted a worker, shooting her in the leg. The suspect was the employee's husband or boyfriend, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The customer who tried stopping the shooting suspect also had a gun, according to police. Witnesses said he pointed his weapon at the suspect's car when the suspect fired, hitting the customer in the head.

The employee was expected to survive, Fox 4 adds.

I say this as someone who is very pro gun-control.
 
The thing about gun control is your just giving up your guns. People like Hillary aren't taking guns from their security team. Criminals will still have guns. Cops will still have guns. If you take my right to defend myself then can I sue the state if someone with a gun breaks into my house and kills the kids?

I think Bernie Sanders and the vast majority of his supporters are leftists. Hillary has been pretending to be a leftist for a few months now, but I agree with you that in reality she's more like a democrat rather than a leftist. Although many of her supporters are leftists.

57 - this is my issue with what you do. You assume my position by generalizing me with a party I don't even belong to.

I have yet to post on the bathroom issue because it's a moronic debate that affects less than .01% of the population. Public restrooms are gross - why anyone would want to die on that hill astounds me.

Gun control, on the other hand, I do care about. I think we need to have stricter gun control regulations, as I have repeated time and time and time again. I just think its tasteless to politicize and make light of someone dying.

It is politics that is keeping us from getting something as simple as waiting periods, how else do you propose getting any kind of meaningful progress. Wait for the free market or wishing on a star

I could post thousands and thousands of instances of armed carrier protecting themselves and others, but it would be pretty pointless, right? I mean, what does 1 bad instance prove?

In any instance, a CCW should only be used in defense of yourself and others; not to chase down bad guys. The number 1 thing to do is always retreat to a safe place if possible.

By a staggering overwelming majority, CCW holders save more lives than are lost.

You absolutely assumed my position when you characterized me as someone who gets upset over bathroom politics, but gets upset when other politicize shootings. There wasn't another person in this thread that decried Goldy.

To your other point, How does a waiting period prevent the tragedy that Goldy alluded to?

There isn't even a political point made in this thread. At least with Sandy Hook you have grounds to be outraged.
