A police officer should be able to determine that a man passively standing in front of a convenience store is not an ongoing violent action.

Once again, I feel like we watched a different video. I saw a man struggling while being tackled, but at no point did I see a man attempting to grab a gun.

Nope not a racist but am concerned with what is going on with my black people. See its easy for you and people like you to label me as a racist because you dont want to acknowledge the real problems in America. You dont want to hear black voices because deep inside it will make you feel guilty. But its ok. Blind White Americans will learn the hard way. Many minority groups are no longer taking the garbage given to us.

Was he attempting to kill the cop? A non violent outcome would obviously be the best option. It was attempted through taser and wrestling, right?

What do you mean by passively standing in front of the store? The cops were there because he brandished his firearm.

In the 2nd video that came out in HD, you can see him wrestling his right arm from from the cop that is by his legs. This was after the cops gave had discovered he had a gun in his pocket and told him not to move (due to them knowing he had a gun). What are they supposed to do, wait till he grabs the gun?

Cops have a personally responsibility to do their best, but have split second decisions to decide if their lives are at risk or not. This guys gets to resist with a gun in his pocket and is looked at as a victim.

Do you believe he contributed to the outcome?

These aren't black problems, Asian problems, white problems, or any one race. These are American problems. Everyone wants to blame someone and everyone is at fault. What exactly do I have to feel guilty about?

That was ridic. I saw no connection. I was disturbed with other portions that showed blm protest. (which don't appear to be comparable to what the people in Dallas were doing)

Again, I find it bizarre that you would see this in the video. I can't even fathom how you perceive this. You are interpreting "moving his arm" as trying to kill cops.

I mean, when the police showed up, there was no violence happening. There was literally just a man standing there, and at no point did he brandish a firearm in their presence. Police should obviously investigate reported threats, and if they need to subdue someone, do it; but to turn that situation into a homicide is an abject failure on the cops part.

As always, I do not know all the facts, but there is nothing in the video that I believe justifies him being shot.

EDIT: I should say, I actually don't think it's worth arguing about this. My main reaction is just sadness; I wish we could just find a way to find solutions.

I asked a hypothetical question. Neither I or the cops know if his intentions were to kill them. In their shoes, they are trying to interview a guy that was pegged as brandishing a firearm. He refused to talk to them and then refused to go in for questioning. Next step? Use taser....that still doesn't work and they wrestle him to the ground. While fighting to keep him down (and handcuff him?) they discover he has a gun and tell him not to move. (obvious reasons why they wouldn't want him to move). He then still wrestles his arm free in proximity to where they know the gun is. That can pretty much not be debated, right? It's a split second decision and none of us know his intentions, but they certainly were not to comply with the officers.

I can see why its debated, I sympathize with the Minnesota victim. That was a case of a bad cop. This is a dude with a long rapsheet brandishing a firearm and then resisting arrest while armed. He was the reason why he was shot. Whether or not the outcome "fits the crime," it was escalated because of his actions and his decision to be armed and resist arrest. I mean this is the second time he's had an illegal firearm and wrestled with police.....why are we sympathetic to this guy?

Sadness for me as well. People need to stop putting both themselves and officers at risk. How can we find a way for officers to safely contain people like this?

My initial comment that started this also really hasn't been answered. I don't know why people are focusing on the MN shooting.

So you sort of see an equivalence in blacks murdering random white people to radical jihadists that suicide-bomb random groups of civilians that don't agree with their version of God? And you say that that is likely going to happen more and more often unless white people whom are several generations descended from plantation owners do not give up much of their inherited wealth to blacks that have descended several generations from slaves in the 18th century? Am i getting this ideology in a nutshell? Also I'm curious, how prevalent this ideology is? Do 75% of blacks agree with this? Or much smaller portion?

The whole 'blacks are becoming WOKE' and 'putting their feet down' mantra right after 5 police officers were killed definitely comes across as satisfaction. Just letting you know.

You think Muslims are terrorizing because they're fed up? Good gosh, what are you talking about?

I get the idea of blacks being disadvantaged in some ways, but it would help far more to attempt to get ahead so that each successive generation is better off. Over time, it will even out. My parents had no wealth that was passed down, and we did just fine.
 
Having wealth passed down is also not a requirement. Unfortunately, I didn't have wealth passed down either, I received debt.
