7/18 GDT: Cincinnati (Bad) vs. Atlanta (Worse)

Mods, please delete my GDT: I lost by a minute! I used to be able to delete my posts here, but I can't find that option anymore.

Frenchy with an RBI double.

Looks like Wisler needs to stretch out a little more with his leg toward the plate. That might lower his pitches.

Wisler. Man. I understand giving up so many against the Cubs, but not a team that's been as bad as us offensively for several months. Get it together and man up, dude.

I'm still giddy about Folty's progression, so I'm not upset, but Wisler has taken huge steps back

Yep. If someone had told me at the beginning of the season that Folty would be the better of the two I would have thought they were on crack.

I'd have been surprised about Folty's progress, but I'm not surprised by how Wisler is doing. The only way a pitcher can get away with the kind strikeout rates Wisler has is by being an extreme groundball guy, and Wisler is a flyball pitcher. Wisler will have to improve his secondary pitches to the point his K rate is around or just below 8ish, or I doubt he'll be anything more than a back of the rotation guy. He just doesn't miss bats enough to be super effective.

Not me. I've always felt Folty had way more upside and not suprised at all he's having a better year. Wisler FIP last year was slighly better 4.93 to Folty's 5.10. Plus Folty had a much better k/bb ratio and k/9.
