GDT 8/21/13: Braves (Wood) @ Mets (Niese) 1:10 PM - Dark Wood Rising

I am concerned that his jaw is broken too. Hopefully just teeth though. Time will tell. If we lose him for the year that's a killer for us.

Yeah, Janish or that Johnson guy we just claimed. The point is if Uggla can see better and starts performing better, then CJ's struggles won't suck as much.
 
I knew we probably wouldn't make it to the end of the season without a major injury (not saying this is major, yet) but we just can't lose Heyward for the year. He's been our best hitter since the ASB.

I need to head back to work but want to hear some good news first.

Doesn't matter if it hit him high. A concussion doesn't have to be instantaneous impact. If it hit him with enough force on the cheek area, it could've sent huge shockwaves to his brain. He may have "concussion-like" symptoms later on.

I am not sure he's an upgrade to anyone we have. He's not hitting and made a costly error his last game with KC. They DFA'd him shortly after he let a ball hit right at him at third go through. It cost KC a game when they were really hot. I don't understand what we're thinking here.
