Although I'd prefer the #1 pick, I do get some satisfaction out of beating up on our division rivals right before the playoffs.
As long as we can stay in a top 3 pick, I will take the progress we are seeing. I would love to see Blair make two more starts to show us some more.
Enscheff is not happy right now.
I'm mad because Kemp made 2 routine plays look hard? Plays like that are precisely why defensive metrics (as flawed as they are) are infinitely better than your "eye test".
Yet another straw man argument from a poster around here. Claiming Kemp is a bad defender, which he is, does not mean I am rooting for him to fail.
Remember, this is my favorite team too. Just because I don't have as rosy colored glasses as you doesn't change that.
The lowest batting avg we ran out there yesterday was Peterson at .259. He was the lowest by a good stretch too.
That's not bad. Not much pop, but not bad.

A lot of things have gone right with the starting lineup in the second half. But it wouldn't be surprising if a couple of them turned out to be small sample illusions. That includes Freddie Freeman's second half slash line of: .326/.432/.638. It has been fueled in part by a .388 BABIP. His career BABIP is .341, which is probably what we should expect going forward. I think some of the increase (but not all) in power seen this year gets sustained over the next few years.
I mean, when players have hot streaks, sure their BABIP is usually going to be up. I'd think every player that has a great year has periods where their BABIP is high.
Given the way Swanson has started and Inciarte has finished, seeing Blair get on track would make me (almost) feel sorry for the Dbacks.
I like having Kemp in the lineup. But I don't think he has much to do with Freeman's second half surge.
The big plus from the Kemp trade imo is that we now are no longer in danger of paying a giving someone like Cespedes a market-value 6 or 7 year deal. We have much much less risk and much more flexibility with the remaining three years of Kemp's deal than a deal that runs twice as long or longer.
Yeah. But not all hot streaks are equally fueled by BABIP.
