"But He's Not Ready"

But I was told there's no way a .250 hitter at AA could hit in the majors. Maybe there's more to this baseball thing than stats.

This thread is so dumb

That's clv for ya, making claims that are not true as a way to try and self validate himself. Most everyone in that thread was annoyed because of lost service time, but of course he claims everyone was saying Dansby was gonna suck.

And of course after making this passive agressive "look at me" post he'll be whining about people calling him out and people being mean next time something he says comes back to bite him in the butt.

Great to see Dansby rocking and rolling regardless, but if the way service time works doesn't chance in the upcoming CBA it was still a bad move to call him up before May next year. But it's a pointless circular argument at this point until we see how that shakes out.

I've never seen folks misunderstand an argument at the level clv manages to do it over and over. I scanned some of that thread and I saw very little talk about him not being ready. Most of the anti-promotion talk was based squarely around service time.

It's not surprising that a guy who's career only required him to retain enough information that can be taught in a 6 week course would have trouble differentiating "they are wasting his service time" with "Swanson sucks".

What is so hard for you to understand about the concept of resigning him? Why are you so certain we will not be able to? We are talking years down the road. We might even have another world title by then given how well the rebuild has gone up to now. And finally why fret so much over something you can't control? Newsflash, the Braves aren't concerned with his service time you shouldn't be either.

He's going to be 28 when he's going into his free agent years, I have zero interest in seeing us sign him to a long term deal that goes into his mid 30s. If he's willing to sign a Freddie type of deal that ends when he is in his early 30s that would be fine, but there is no particular reason at this juncture to think he'll sign a short term deal rather than go for the one big contract at peak value. If we were talking about Albies all of the "We can just resign him!" commentary would make sense because he's young and any sort of extension could make sense with a decent deal, but with Dansby there are limited situations where an extension is even a good idea for the Braves given his age, which is why service time considerations are worth taking into account for him.

Next time you decide to leave, don't come back.

Oh good grief. Does chasing away anyone who disagrees with you make the board better? I want everyone to stay... I personally believe telling someone else to leave the board is the epitome of childish behavior.

Would be quite funny if it were true MMA God.
