Man, Weigel just keeps getting more and more love. I like him, but wondering if he's a sell high candidate the way everyone has jumped on him.

Looking at this I think of 3 things. Acuna could be a stud. To have that much athletic ability and also strike zone discipline is rare for teenagers. Sims should be a reliever. He could be a darn good one. The only thing I'm thinking is we plan on trading him as a starter. Albies has much more value as a SS than a 2B.
 
That's a pretty strong top 10. Our 11-20 would be in most people's top 10. I'd probably put Maitan in a 2020 lineup bc if he comes even close to what he could be then 3 years in the minors should be enough. Also, Fried's curveball must be nasty if he beat out Allard and Touki.

Giving Allard the best changeup in the system was a surprise to me simply because I feel like I haven't read much about it. MLB Pipeline gives his fastball and curveball both 60 grades and the changeup a 50.

Sims has three pitches and the body to be a starter. If he could ever harness everything then he's got front of the rotation potential. They're not going to be quick to give up on that.

It's possible, but I think he's going to have problems cracking our rotation with our current depth.

Curious to see if he can hit as he moves up. Clearly an under-the-radar guy who has some tools.

I don't really put a lot of stock in BA anymore. They're good for general prospect status for the most part, but a lot of times their individual scouting seems to be off of what everybody else has.

Also, why do people keep saying Albies has more value as a SS? Maybe on the trade market he does, but who cares about his trade value? He can be just as valuable to us as a 2B as he would be as a SS.
 
They must consider Fried to be more consistent with his curve than Touki, because when Toussaint is throwing his curve well I can't imagine another pitcher in the system having a better one.
 
here's the fun part though..... if Fried can stay healthy he's about to rocket up some lists.

If his curve is 'Touki--ish' with his velo back around 92-95, strong command and a solid change up, we are talking about one of the better potential pitching prospects in baseball.

Remember he finished his season last year dominating the playoffs.

I love Albies, but yes he has more value as a as a SS. IMO 2B and LF are the last two spots I worry about when constructing a team. If we could get a stud RF, 3B or TOR starter for Albies I'd do it. That's just me. I don't put as much stock in to 2B as I do 3B, RF or TOR

When I read somewhere they moved him to RF to make room for Acuna I though it was odd as I didn't know much about his arm. He's got the tools to be a good one.

You may think about 2B last, but that doesn't reduce his potential value. The league is slightly better in the top end at SS right now and slightly better in the middle tier at 2B right now, with the bottom about the same. That doesn't mean it's easier to find a good 2B than it is a SS. There aren't more than 20 guys who provide any real value at either position.

And LF was actually a much worse position around the league than either of those in 2016, so if you have one that's very good, you're way ahead. So I'm not sure why you're so concerned with what position a guy plays. Value is value.

I agree with the first part, but not necessarily the second. During the Braves' dynasty, they got above average offensive performance at positions usually not offensive-centric (Andruw in CF, Javy at C, etc.). While Albies doesn't profile as a power-hitter, he does profile as an above-average bat for average (and by extension OBP). His presence would allow the Braves to slot players at the other positions you mention who may not profile as an optimum offensive performer at that position.
