Meals on Wheels on the chopping block..
Some muttered, "individual liberty" under neath his breath
Embarrassing overreach of the judiciary.
How so, where in the constitution does it say the president can block people from certain countries from immagrating to the US.
As I recall, there's a federal law that allows the president to stop a specific type of immigrant, like refugee, or non, or so one. But nothing mentioning countries.
When Obama did it a few years back I don't remember you complaining about him doing it.
i don't recall you praising him for it
never mind they aren't the same
but if your defense everytime trump does something, it is "Obama did it"
then you and others need to explain to me what you/yall hated Obama for?

"Any restriction he may deem appropriate"
Well that really clears things up. Exactly why there's a need for judiciary review.
"Any restriction he may deem appropriate"
You understand that doesn't supersede the Constitution, though, right?
That's what this judges' rulings are finding.
The constitution also gives the president almost exclusive powers to deal with foreign nations. Immigration is in essence a transaction between the citizen of one nation and our country:
'Let’s start with the Constitution, which vests all executive power in the president. Under the Constitution, as Thomas Jefferson wrote shortly after its adoption, “the transaction of business with foreign nations is Executive altogether. It belongs then to the head of that department, except as to such portions of it as are specifically submitted to the Senate. Exceptions are to be construed strictly.”'
No it doesn't. It gives him the ability to appoint Ambassadors He can negotiate treaties but they aren't ratified until it's confirmed by 2/3 of the Se. So maybe bone up on the constitution. What the president has the power to do is execute. Hence Executive Branch. Which is why they can kind of pick and choose how strictly to enforce a law if they so choose. For example. without law Trump could tell the DEA, FBI, etc. to not arrest or charge anyone with simple possession of marijuana.
"Any restriction he may deem appropriate"
Yes...almost exclusive. It's indisputable that the president has by far the most power in the foreign arena.
You picked one line from an entire bill. The full paragraph says
"Whenever a president finds the entry of any alien, or any class of aliens, into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation and for such period as he deems necessary suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restriction he may deem appropriate."
And for everyone else's clarity I'm linking to the law so anyone can read what already exists for classes of Aliens not allowed.

Basically we already have laws in place to stop terrorists from entering the countries, if you are related to a known terrorist, have received militant training, etc. you can't come in.
Realize that the only other time this has happened was Carter during the Iran Hostage crisis. And that's much mroe direct and reasonable.
