The top prospect rumored by the Yankees is Florial, who ranks 71st on BBA updated list.
A 45 FV guy to start the season. Likely at 50 now with his good work this year. We could match that easily and should if that's what it takes.
Problem is the A's want an OFer as the headliner. Florial is a legit CFer posting an .869 OPS in A ball at the age of 19. I agree he will easily be a FV 50 guy by the time FG updates their list, which means he is worth $20M by their estimation. That is light as the centerpiece for Gray, but if they are insistent on getting an OFer that might be the best available.
Acuna is obviously not happening, so the Braves don't have anything that can compete with Florial. If the A's would have taken a package centered around a $20M pitcher, Gray would probably be an Atlanta Brave by now considering the Braves have a dozen pitching prospects worth $20M or more.

Yankees deep in talks for Jaime Garcia... wonder what that means for the Gray market if they get him.

Sounds like Zack Littell is the centerpiece being discussed for Garcia, which makes sense considering he was the one scratched tonight. A much closer prospect with very good results than Ynoa, but IMO... not near the ceiling. Kinda reminds me of a Gant/Whalen profile.

Littell is a 21 year old with a 2.31 FIP in AA. Striking out 10.64 per 9.
I think I'd take him and Enns.

Seems like the valuation in all 3 (?) Garcia trades is similar, with the Ynoa trade the only one where the seller is not sending cash with Garcia. The Twins can never seem to break the habit on these fringy back-end types. Enns need to be put on the 40-man now and Littell this offseason. Yanks in a similar position as the Braves with a deep and talented farm system, so these are not the type of guys they can really afford to protect on the 40-man.

Instead of wasting time on this Sonny Gray/other controllable SP pipe dream, how about spending your time selling off deadweight from this club in the next 30 hours.
