Playoffs Thread

One of the post game guys was saying if the batter hits the catcher on a back swing it's a dead ball. If that's the case then the whole series of events after the passed ball shouldn't have happened.

Nats fans will be bitching about that call for 10 years just like we bitch about the infield fly call.

I feel a tiny amount of compassion for the gnats and fans...but its so tiny that its probably not real, more like white noise or rounding error.

The last 6 years they have averaged 91 wins and made the playoffs 4 times. They haven't made it out of the divisional round. Very Braves like.

Apparently the umpire has to make the determination that it interfered with the play.

I think it's telling that Wieters had catcher's interference later in the inning. He was too close up to begin with. Terrible defensive catcher.

I don't and watching Werth and Harper, two of the biggest tools in the game, strike out to end it was the highlight of this season for me.

To his credit, he said after the game that he picked the wrong time to have one of the worst defensive games of his career.

Was kinda feeling bad for them watching, then i realized.

No, this is too enjoyable.

Hopefully Harper dips to a big market like LA or Chicago.

Altuve is likely headed for the HoF, so I'll take 50% of that for Albies.

#3 in the 2016 AL MVP voting.
Probably higher this year.
4.5 or higher WAR each of the past four seasons, with a high of 7.5 this year.
I don't think he will age particularly well but even if he doesn't he has an excellent chance for the HoF.

Albies is a nice prospect, but yeah the odds of any prospect going to the HoF are low, to put it mildly. I do think Albies has a good chance (about 50%) of being a perennial All-Star. That would not be too shabby. What about odds of even higher accomplishment. I'd say about 5% chance he becomes an MVP caliber player and 1% chance he makes the HoF. ymmv
