Not only that, but also to give the other side something that can be easily used for motivation. Darvish has also had to put up with crap in Japan for being half Iranian.

Is Cuba even in our solar system? I don't want to be guilty of the same racist crap that Gurriel displayed, but it just seems these Cuban guys always do something outside the box that (sometimes rightfully) p*sses off both teammates and opposing players. Think of Yunel Escobar. He had more talent in his little finger than the entirety of the three guys the Braves got for him, and yet Braves' players gave Sea Bass Gonzalez a standing ovation when he arrived in the home team the locker room.

It will be a miracle of Wood makes it through the Astros lineup a 2nd time unscathed. He is succeeding with smoke and mirrors tonight.
