Playoffs Thread

That's Verlander type ****. Something's fishy.

FOX is notorious for inflating the radar gun.

They had 40 year old Kenny Rogers throwing 96mph in 06 World Series. They also had Alex Wood throwing 93–94 for us several of those Saturday afternoon games previous.

That's an assumption. But yea, if Hinch planned to roll Morton out regardless, I agree with you that the sequence made sense. Nonetheless, I question the necessity of bringing Morton in / Devenski out to start the next inning; and I personally would want to keep a little more powder dry, given the Dodgers' offense and the outside possibility of extras—especially since I don't think Gattins-IBB plus Maybin hitting against Kershaw with two outs added that much to run-scoring probability.

It's pretty clear the Astros are strictly using BP guys in the middle innings to allow their SPs to start innings fresh.

Morton was coming in no matter what.

Now Wood for the bottom of the Astros lineup. Who faces Springer in the 9th? Maeda? Do they let Springer hit another HR off a LHer?

Wow Morton is hitting. Hinch is straying from the plan to play the hot hand.

Should have been Beltran hitting, Fisher pinch running, and Keuchel in the 9th.

Does Wood face Springer?

Awesome by the Astros.

Just completed the gauntlet and defeated the Top 3 MLB payrolls in succession.

3) BOS
2) NYY
1) LAD

Good thing for us we're going back to the #BravesWay instead of modeling our team into the future.

Would have never predicted Charles Morton would close out a game 7 of a World Series. Unbelievable.

I'm way stoked for McCann. A great Atlanta Brave.

Very happy for MAC ATTACK.

Also happy for the Gorn and even Maybin. Maybin wanted to be here knowing we were going to suck. Had a nice year for us and was traded away.

Awesome job, Houston. The people who stuck with them through all those years of suck deserve this. Extremely happy for McCann. I still can't help but think of this as an NLCS.
