GDT 9/27/2013: Braves v. Phillies

Great job by Meds and Kimbrel to keep it shutout and thank god we scored a run. Have to feel bad for Lee he pitched way better than Medlen but made one mistake and his team didn't pull it off.

Good lord, man. You are trying really hard not to be impressed by Medlen.

Well Clifford, there's always a spot for you in our rotation next year if you want.

It helps when you get 2 inches off the ground and 2 inches inside and outside the black on your pitches.

Can't complain though, Glavine and Maddox lived in those spots as well.

The is where I hate the win loss stat, both pitched awesome, vintage pitchers duel.

Nice win though.

Medlen impressed me more tonight than any game all season. He was at his best and that was a great game by him.

Well done Kris!

So the Phillies still haven't announced a starter for tomorrow to take Halladay's spot. What options do they have?

Good question, could go with Ethan Martin but he's in the bullpen.

It was gonna be Halladay but he is shut down.

Poor Cliff.

Also makes you appreciate just how many dominant pitchers there were back then in an era of roiders.

I mean Maddux, Unit, Pedro, Schilling, Glavine, Smoltz, were putting up solid W-L records, ERA's, and striking out guys. Most importantly many of them were going the distance in a lot of games.
