Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

My point is Trump and his campaign encouraged and welcomed activity from the Russians to help his campaign. And some of those activities are now being prosecuted.

He also said it was a hoax, even after he was briefed about it, before he was even elected. But now it's not, but it started before he told America he was running.

A couple other observations. I doubt very much that the plea bargains reached with Flynn, Papadopoulos and apparently now Gates had to do with them providing evidence on today's indictments. Those guilty pleas were accepted because they can provide evidence on crimes by bigger fish further up the food chain. Papadopoulos almost surely has no information relevant to the obstruction aspects of the investigation. Or the aspects that might relate to financial crimes. By a process of elimination, I am left to conclude that any evidence he has to offer has to do with the quid pro quo with the Russians aspect of the investigation.

Flynn probably has evidence relevant to both the obstruction and quid pro quo aspects. Gates I suspect will mainly be used to flip Manafort, who I suspect has information mostly about the quid pro quo part of the investigation.

I don't understand why people make Fox News jokes on this board like it's still 2000.

I subscribe to Sling TV. There is no Fox News on Sling TV.

I get BBC News, France 24, Euronews, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, CCTV, etc.

I judge any adult that seriously watches CNN. I judge any network that would give Chris Cuomo a TV show.

I judge American news in general.

Some of you clearly watch too much of it.

Because like 2000, Fox News is a joke. And saying things like collusion was dead in June is in perfect alignment with them.

I read mostly newspapers and internet. Any cable news watching is election returns for the most part.

Feel free to point out any single indictment, rumored indictment, or plea which substantiates any angle of a collusion narrative.

The catch is that you can't presume the Gates domino theory (which was the same theory we heard with Flynn and then PapaD).

In all fairness, I was promised a Presidential puppet and obvious (to everybody but me) collusion.

I've been given troll farms and Papadopoulos. Paul Manafort being a skeeze (shocker) and Michael Flynn being a windbag (another shocker).

Has the case diminished from the fevered accusations that were originally bandied about? Yes, absolutely, and I'm not sure why this is such an offending reality.

I think it's possible that Mueller might roll up Manafort. Sure. What would that constitute to you? How would you spin that?

There's undoubtedly more to go - but I ultimately gather that it will be little of true consequence.

I'm still content going back to my original statement from almost a year ago when I crowed about the collusion investigation being dead. I think that component of the investigation has long since ceased to exist.

I mean, I guess I know what your big-picture opinion is. It may very well even be correct. I'm asking why you seem so certain that these indictments, and Papa's, and Manafort's, positively support your point of view rather than being just...I dunno...neutral or inscrutable.

BTW, slick repositioning of the ol' goalposts with "I was promised a puppet." Certainly not by me.

Any angle? Papadopoulos. I'm not sure why you're so hinky about it.

You tell us thethe. You're the one who keeps spouting that.

Maybe you just don't care to read anything that contradicts your bias. I for one enjoy reading/watching leftist material so I can understand the opposition. I encourage you to read the national review piece that I linked a couple of days ago. All the information you need is right in there. The recusal of the original judge that sat for the plea deal is a very interesting tidbit.
