Well thats a nice gift right there from Quintana.

Teams afraid of Albies. Making pitching changes just for him.

Seems a very Sartrean sentiment to me, but then again, I also don't believe that there is a 'true' existentialism.

I always took the midcentury existentialists to be more why anything at all versus why this specific thing/mode/activity; but I didn’t mean to suggest that there’s a “true” existentialism. I’m not even sure it’s that useful of a term, tbh, because it’s essentially just teleological metaphysics, which is essentially just metaphysics, full-stop.

I've never lived in the rust belt, but I would probably prefer there over Mississippi simply because of the weather. I am a VERY hot natured person so the weather down here doesn't agree with me at all. I love cold weather. I lived in Anchorage for a year and it was like heaven to me lol.

That's awesome - I would LOVE to live in Anchorage. I'm getting hooked on all those "...Alaska..." shows on Nat Geo and Discovery and whatnot

Man I would love to watch a battle between Acuna and Ozzie for ROTY, but one might be a late call up and the other had too many wasted at bats last year.

Oz did need work on his LH swing but I think a lot of it is he just isn't typical to those that are old school. Not a typical, slappy MI from the shorter ones or a physical specimen. Chipper kind of actually mocked him on twitter early in his call-up last year for him elevating, but at the same time, his LH swing, it's all that Chipper worked on and it's working (even though he did start slow again this year with that side).

There's nothing you can do if it works. He's obviously not going to slug .700+, but he's somewhat real, power wise.

I also remember Hart saying on the broadcast that Albies was up so they could see if he can handle MLB pitching and that he had a ton of work to do.

I was like WTF

I had EXACTLY the same feeling as the HO trade (except thank goodness it didn’t happen)....I had a sick feeling when I heard about potential trade. Was nervous that whole day until he was traded.

For now I think you bench Tucker but I'd be trying hard to trade Markakis. I don't think Tucker is fully real but considering that he was a good prospect for Houston a few years back he might be somewhat real power wise with a bit lower average.

Of course Acuna could not hit at all for a while and not be up for weeks, we don't know. Considering his history I think him hitting is coming soon and he'll be up sooner rather than later.

I'll be happy if Newcomb gets 5 decent innings with how things look there. It helps that the wind is blowing in (unless you're pitching against Ozzie) but that's just awful weather to deal with.

It depends on how things continue to unfold. If you want isoOBP (and overall OBP), you probably stick with Markakis. isoSLG and SLG, Tucker. Markakis is a bit better defensively. I don't know what Markakis' market would be. Likely a fringe prospect even if we absorbed almost all his salary. If one thinks Tucker is for real, maybe that's a deal you make. I just worry that Tucker's April is fool's gold.

Small thing but those two takes by Swanson on sliders in the dirt when he got down 0-2 are symbolic of his resurgence early on this season.
