Characteristically, Trump cited Kim's praise of his efforts.
"He said, 'we have never gone this far.' I don't think they've ever had the confidence, frankly, in a president that they have right now for getting things done and having the ability to get things done," Trump said.
What a lying a--hole. Everything is a blatant lie and a boast.
Looks like NK gave up nothing and got a lot. What a dealmaker! I wish we could do a computer simulation of what the GOP fake rage machine would do if Obama had made this fake deal with NK.

I want our Forever Trumpets to explain to us why this is a good deal for the US or even for Asia. Stopping military exercises, giving Kim Jong Un his big international stage AND declaring that he's trustworthy!
For all that we should have gotten a bunch of concrete and verifiable concessions. What were they other than a fake foreign policy win for T?

What a huge win for NK and a somewhat toothless win for Trump. At least he didn't start WWII. However, it makes all that fire and fury talk look silly and will surely inform anyone who deals with him in the future - Give Trump what he needs politically and you can get anything. Bad players of the world are licking their chops.
Still looks like a big loss for America and its Asian allies.

That was seized Iranian money that Trump turned into a giveaway when he backed out of the deal. Now Iran gets their money back and can do what it wants so Orange Head can get a political win. It shows the only geopolitical game he is playing is promoting himself.

Well, unfreezing those funds--and let's be honest about that part while we're at it, ok?--was a quid pro quo for a robust inspection regime that provided verification for their side of the deal. So far, I haven't heard a whisper of anything like that. I think, in general, opening a dialogue is good, and that talking is better than lobbing Twitter insults. I've been pretty open-minded about the potential for progress here.
But, absent any other detail, this just looks like a massive coup for KJU in terms of prestige and legitimacy. If we did indeed agree to suspend military exercises with ROK, then it appears that we've made substantial concessions without any certain and verifiable return. Maybe there's more to see, but I certainly haven't seen it.
