gdt: 7/10 blue jays

The Jays aren't completely terrible but man....this is pretty bad, this team has recovered from looking bad before this year but even including the 4 wins right after Ronald got back this has been a long stretch of bad...including with the last 5 games pretty much losing all power...

If the braves are somehow still in after August, the braves play 28 games in September. Of those 28 games, 23 of the games will be vs winning teams

The Braves will win the division if they take care of business against Philly and Washington like they have so far.

They will lose the division if they don't.

Yes and no. We have played well against them, it’s just the average and bad teams that we don’t take care of business against. It has been ok to this point because no one in our division has gotten on a roll. Philly appears to be doing that.

The thing is, the Braves won't be seeing Philly again until the end of the season and even if the Braves figure out some things and play decent ball again which should happen...how far behind will the Braves be from them given the corresponding schedules? Philly has learned how to actually handle the bad teams.

Realistically... if the Braves can play close to .500 ball they're not going to fall very far behind.

I just hope we don't turn into the Mets before our very eyes. Other than the Cardinalls sweep, we've played like dogs in our last four or five series.

Perhaps the front office should have done something to address the team's weaknesses before they lost the division lead.

They didn't though, and I hope we just stick a band aid (cheap acquisitions) on this now. The pen needs a major overhaul, and the starters are way too volatile. Please don't trade guys that could actually help when we're ready next season

Guys, even good teams go through bad times over 162 games. Way too early to panic. I know it's frustrating but it's just the way baseball is.

Braves have played like garbage for 3 weeks and are 8-11.

I think it's important to remember that the world isn't ending. We're 1 game behind a team who has over performed all year (whereas we have actually under-performed)

True, I'm a little worried about Freeman though, hopefully he can recover (and I thought the last 2 games in Milwaukee may've gotten him going) because if he doesn't this offense is DOA.

Yeah, the sky is not falling. We're in pretty good shape overall, but we're going to have to address some holes if we're serious about contending this year.
