GDT Sun, 7/22 vs Nats, weather permittiing

Didn't Hand give up a bomb to a lefty in Texas already?

That's another thing with trading much for relievers, sometimes when they switch teams they don't perform as well. I think switching leagues in trades is part of that sometimes. I thought the Padres got a good return for two relievers. I cannot be critical of AA for not paying what that price would've been for us. Further, I do expect he will add a lefty before the deadline but the reason we are not in first alone right now is because snit is a bad manager who gave away too many games that we deserved to win. His record in close games late and extra innings is terrible outside of our miracle comebacks and some were quite remarkable. That game vs Miami for example where Swanson had that big walk off hit. A big error opened that door on the Freeman play at first as I recall. If that ball is caught as it should've been we likely lose that game. But errors happen and we made the most of it and stole that game.

Only the Padres can save this day!

Padres already did more than I expected by taking one game, if they sweep the DH today that would be great but unexpected. I was glad for the rain out yesterday because I thought maybe they could split today if a DH, and by winning game one they will at least do that. However, I am now getting greedy and hoping for an unexpected sweep of the DH as that would put us in first.

I have to laugh at Snitker's timing of his double switch. He had to have known a rain delay was coming very soon. With the rain delay and double switch move made, he essentially burned two players in Carle and Camargo for no reason.
