Not to be dick, but the Mets lineup is absolutely god awful. That's not to say beating deGromm still isn't impressive, or that our pen isn't much improved. But, beating bad teams is something you have to do if you're going to be a playoff team.

Yep...that’s what I think. It’s great that we are taking care of business. Pitching wise....it’s great to see, but we aren’t exactly playing g the Red Sox. It is a GREAT sign though!!

You're absolutely correct that good teams beat the teams they're supposed to beat. It was also a reason for much of the concern about the Braves having a losing record against teams like the Reds and the Orioles and getting swept by the then sub-.500 IIRC Giants. Throw in a six game split against the woeful Padres.

It seems like we play pretty well against the teams in our division e.g. those we see a lot. Bottom feeder teams give us entirely too much trouble.

In deGrom's post game interview on SNY, he said he checked the film of the Camargo home run adding that he put the pitch exactly where he wanted it. He went on to say that Camargo had to be looking for that pitch and just beat him to the spot. I had to chuckle when deGrom said "you just tip your cap in that situation."
