Chipper Jones picked the Dodgers to win in 4.

I don't understand what's wrong with someone giving their honest opinion. Do we want Chipper to be a homer and pick us just because he played for us? He knows the game and knows how big of a challenge this series is going to be. Just because he's picking the Dodgers that doesn't mean he's pulling for them.

To be clear, he certainly didn't say he was pulling for the Dodgers. What caught my attention was it wasn't as if they said "So Chipper who you got in this series?" He was asked who he had coming out of the American league and he responded that he hated to say it but he had the Dodgers winning in 4. I thought it was a case, with him throwing out the first pitch, to maybe keep it to himself if he wasn't asked. But certainly, I am not questioning his loyalty to the Braves or any of that.

Just heard it on 680 the fan. Chipper apparently was interviewed this morning on the Front Row and picked the Dodgers to win the series in 4.

When I saw we had to face Dodgers I said the same thing. Kershaw is two wins and is almost automatic and I can't see us beating Greinke twice.

It works both ways.

I saw us beating the Cubs in 2003, beating the Giants in 2002, beating the Cardinals last year, beating the Astros in 2004 and I felt confident enough we'd beat them in 2005.

I didn't see us beating the Giants in 2010 because of how injured we were, but I still didn't openly say we were going to lose because I know after all those years of us being the favorites and losing that anything could happen.

Chipper gave us 20 years of his life when he could have easily left. I respect whatever honest opinion he has to offer.

Look, whether we win this series isn't a big deal to me. We won the East with a very young, banged up team. We have much to look forward to in the coming years. Can we just release Uggla tho?

Look, honesty is what you're going to get from Chipper when you ask him a question like that. If people can't handle it, oh well. Nothing we did last night discredited anything he said or anything anyone on MLB Network/ESPN/TBS has said. We looked pathetically over our heads. Thankfully it's a best-of-five series, and we have an opportunity to right the ship.

Chipper has battered spouse syndrome from all those playoff losses. We need to win this series to get him some help and to safety.

I love our chances in this series. Had Medlen showed up on game 1 maybe it would be 2-0.

I like our chances in game 3, and game 4 is a toss up. Game 5 might be a problem with Cy Kershaw again but if you win both at LA you avoid Kershaw.

I'll be shocked if the Dodgers throw Nolasco in Game 4 instead of Kershaw when their season is on the line

If we game game 3

and we should Julio vs an injured Ryu?

and the dodgers pitch Kershaw on short rest just to tie the series then that's perfect too. Close at home with Minor vs Grienke ?

He'd be pitching on three-days rest after throwing 120+ pitches in game-one, never having pitches on that little rest in his career. I wouldn't hate - if the Braves can win game-three - to see the Dodgers bump Nolasco and throw him in game-four.

I think I'd be all for it too, although the Braves have had quite a bit of success vs Nolasco

Well imagine if our fan base is made up of tons of people like Niners, and they were on the fence about going to the game, and heard Chipper say Dodgers in 4. LoL

We'd have the worst fan base in all of sports if they were all like him. By a wide margin.
