Russia Collusion Scandal (aka A Leftist fantasy)

Manafartov to plead guilty to two counts but to also admit culpability for all other charges. Plus forfeitures, including multiple homes.

A good man.

RT says Manafartov brave American patriot.

Sentence capped at 10 years.

I prefer diplomacy, yes. Unfortunately Trump's been pretty tough on them so don't think we're making much progress

If only Obama had that foresight though when he mocked Romney.

Since Russia is the biggest threat to our democracy in history, I suppose you regret not.voting for Romney, right?

familiar with the phrase "going around your elbow to get to your ass"
??
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

we have had this conversation with historical perspective, hints and allegations so forth.
To sum up, the Russian world of 2012 was far different from the Russian World of 2016

I think the investigation is turning a profit now.

There are individuals both upstream and downstream of Manafartov who are also gonna cough up a lot of dough before this is over. Significantly more than Manafartov in some cases. Should help to pay for the tax cuts.

and now we are on pardon watch.
The catch ? Manafort being culpable to state charges - where a Trump pardon and $2.50 will get him a small coffee. Cheap coffee

Watching this as if boxing I am reminded of Ali-Foreman as the Champ laid on the ropes and let Foreman punch himself out.
Inventing - Rope-A-Dope

Who voted for these people ?

I think one of the things that comes next is Manafartov will be summoned before a grand jury to answer some questions.

Weissmann telling the judge that Manafartov's plea agreement is a cooperation agreement. Apparently, he has already proffered information.

That’s probably what he was doing in the delay before the hearing. Lock it down to prevent an 11th-hour pardon.

[FLOOD]: Mr. President, do not under any circumstances tweet about Manafort’s cooperation. It could expose you to legal—

[TRUMP, typing]: Snitchin’ Paul Manafort has cut a very unfair deal to tell lies about fake Russia collusion to the 17 Angry Democrats on the corrupt Mueller inves

[TRUMP looks up]: Oh, were you talking?

Last night too. He and his lawyers were with Mueller's team for three hours. I'm guessing he has some regret holding out for that pardon and got tired of waiting for it. As Cohen has found out, loyalty is very much a one-way street with Trump.

We should not lose sight of the financial angle. Although seemingly unrelated to the collusion/collaboration matter, I would keep an eye on this.

I’ve got to assume he has some dirt on whoever was washing Yanukovych’s funds. Plus any sketchy dealings on the US/Ukraine foreign relations front (Podesta Group, Mercury Consulting, SkaddenAros). Probably a few nervous folks in DC right now.

He may not put Trump in the jackpot, but prosecutors now have a greater ability to cross-check the Trump Tower meeting story. There was an article this week that detailed investigation of flagged transactions involving the Agalarovs and meeting participant Ike Kavaladze. I find the timing of that story very interesting.

Trump is reported to have told multiple people months ago that Manafartov has information that could incriminate him. I think Mueller has had some of that information for a while. But Manafartov presumably would strengthen his case. I thinking cross-checking is the right term for what Mueller is trying to do. So many of these guys are shady and are conflicted in their motivations that you need corroboration from independent sources before you can rely on their testimony. For example, Gates turned out to be a weak witness because of his prior record of lies and crimes. It was the document trail that nailed Manafartov in his first trial.

i really hope we start actually looking into and prosecuting white collar crime after this mess is over. manafort has been a crook for decades and was only caught because he was stupid enough to get highly involved in a fellow crook's presidential campaign.

also yeah the whole "romney was right i guess?!!1!?!1" crowd is hilarious and misguided as usual, but when you're desperate to sniff trump's ass on the reg i guess anything sounds good.

I also think it's a political distraction.

It's apparent to me Mueller doesn't haven't any thing on Trump.

lmao. political distraction...created by republicans, about republicans, being investigated by...republicans??? brilliant guy we've got here.
also lmao to the second sentence there. "...to me..." being the important phrase here.

serious crimes have been uncovered. multiple people going to jail, admitting to these crimes. "political distraction" tho. it's amazing. utter refusal to admit your fellow racist moron has done anything wrong.
