I was hoping for a split coming into this series so Philly would gain no ground and knock 4 games off the schedule.

But while we're here, let's see the team clinch at home, they deserve it.
 
Bullpen has some options now: Sobotka, Viz, Brach, Winkler, Venters, Biddle, and pray whenever Minter pitches. Whenever we clinch, need to give Minter some time off so maybe he gets some juice back on his FB.

Just dont freaking walk anyone.

And Julio holding Crawford on that leadoff triple seemed mighty important also. Julio pitched well after the leadoff HR, dont care what the numbers say, Acuna just had a bad jump on the ball.
 
Teheran was cruising until he had to face the middle of the order a 3rd time.

This is precisely why non-elite SPs should only be allowed to face 18-20 batters in a high leverage game.

No matter how “hot” they appear to be. Period.
 
Seems like Julio did well tonight. He still would not be in my three-man rotation for the LDS. We cannot afford to have him giving up a home run in the first inning against an actual good team. I'd only start him if we go up 2-1 and we want to save Folty in case of a game 5.

Yeah the only way I try to throw someone like Teheran for longer is if his pitch count is reasonable and we have a huge lead. At that point, lets try to rest the bullpen. But otherwise I would max Julio out at 20 batters or 100-105 pitches.

Can we really role with a 3 man? Maybe, but I think it is probably more likely that we go Folty, Gausman, Anibal, Julio/Newk, Folty
 
We may decide to go four-man. I don't really view Newk as an option as this point. He just has not been reliable the last six weeks or so, the San Francisco game aside.
 
Dont really view Newk as an option, he's gassed.

Bowman said it's probably Sanchez, Folty, Gaus in some order, then Newk or Julio, Julio should be leading for the 4th spot. I'd try to use Newk as a LOOGY and see if he can be used as that.
