GDT 10-4 THE NIGHT THE KILLER FOLTY UNLEASHES HELL ON CALIFORNIA

The Braves obviously got spanked, but there were 2 horribly stupid mistakes:

1. Allowing Folty to bat and then pulling him
2. Acuna stealing while being down by 4

These are exactly the kind of moves that can't be made by playoff teams.

Teams can't give away a PA like that, and they can't give away base runners down by 4. These kind of tactical mistakes simply can't be tolerated.

I could understand a little bit allowed Folty to hit because the bench, lets face it, is thin and frankly not good. This is where the Swanson injury hurts. I completely agree with Acuna trying to steal. Down 4-0 and Freeman on deck is not a good decision at all. Judging by the reaction I saw from Snitker, it appeared Ronald made that call on his own. Whichever the case, not a good call.

The lone bright spot tonight: I liked how Newcombe and Fried pitched tonight. Max has to have consideration for the rotation next year.

A year from now, it just might be that Touki, Fried and even Soroka are ahead of Newcombe and Folty.

We got embarrassed last night. No way to spin what was a completely pitiful performance in every phase of the game. I don't know if it was an off night or post season nerves but that team looked like it had no business playing on the same field as LA.

Where is that ensheff coward at? He was the one crying about it being an unlucky draw to face the Dodgers. Put on your big boy pants and man up.

It didn’t look like we were prepped for Ryu’s tendencies at all. He rarely came ove the plate at a because we were offering at pitches off. Being aggressive like that with his type is a bad recipe .

So that’s what a soft tossing lefty with good stuff looks like though? Damn.

Verducci said during the game the Braves are statistically the most aggressive first pitch chasing team in the bigs with LA I think being the most patient.

And it’s no surprise the game plan from Ryu was to throw tons of off speed stuff early in the count and it worked to perfection.

This is like when the Astros threw 25 or so straight curveballs to the Yanks in the ALCS. I like what AA has done but until we weed out coaching staff of old minded thinkers who don’t embrace modern analytics it’s going to be difficult for us to take that next step.

Ryu is a crafty junkballer. He's exactly the kind of pitcher that gives young, overly aggressive teams like us fits.

The dodgers would be in last place if they had our payroll. They have to more than double us to beat us. Baseball is a joke of a sport.

Most of LA's team is built through homegrown players and trades, a lot of their payroll is from former players on the team eating up money.

And how many championships has this smartest team with the second biggest market won? They even have one of the best SP of all the times. They wouldnt be **** without their market advantage. I dont care how you say they built their team. How many of those prospects traded were signed purely for money like Olivera?

No team with a 200+ million dollar payroll is deserving to be called champions. If we let the Browns have twice the payroll as every other NFL team then they would win a lot too.

Why did the commisioner veto a 2 billion dollar tv deal for the Dodgers saying it wasnt in their best interest but has no problem rubber stamping TimeWarner selling 20 years of tv rights for pennies on the dollar to a TimeWarner owned company while the sale was pending? No other yeam in MLB had both a ****ty tv deal and a long term deal. Other teams have ****ty tv deals but they are 1-5 year deals. Ours was 20 years. Only teams with 20 year deals are getting huge money except us. This is/was compounded by the fact MLB forbid Liberty from pumping money into the Braves to increase its value. We were required to be revenue neutral so we couldnt spend nig even if we wanted to. Beyond that I also still have a problem with the secret loan given to the Nats when their payroll was 160 million and ours 120. How about telling thrm to trade some ****ing salary instead of gifting them money? If its not a big deal why wasnt it announced by MLB or the Nats. It had to be uncovered ny a beat reporter.

After all the **** MLB pulled to get us off TBS and now we cant even field a league average payroll.

I may be in the minority but I go out this offseason and get a legit ace like DeGrom. I know what he’ll cost in terms of prospects but that’s why I spend money on Pollock instead of trading for a bat. Camargo has proven to be pretty good over at 3b, so what do you do with Riley? Do you give him a chance at 3b or sell high this offseason?

I was told that the Braves had an ace. He toed the runner last night. I agree that anybody would benefit greatly by adding deGrom. I mean his last name behind with a lowercase letter. He’s a stud pitcher and whatever you need to give up for him is probably worth it.

I like Folty and he’s came a long way since last year but the mental side I think he’ll always have a problem with. He’s a very good #2 but not an ace.
