Waters may be real good. Braves ate only going to get better next year. Need to sort out all these starters and just continue to find value in the pen.

Wonder if Duvall could be used in a trade for a reliever. Gotta be a team out there in desperate need of an outfielder. He at least guarantees positive defense with a chance for above average power. Maybe we could get a 4A guy with some promise.

Duval is going to end up with a 2 WAR season for someone and Braves fans country wide are going to be bitching.

Waters BB/K ratio is ugly but man a 162wRC+ in his age 20 season (will be 20 all year) at AA is damn impressive. He is slowly making his way into FV 55-60 range.

Both he and Pache (who has similar numbers) are really changing the calculus long term. You could end up having all 3 OF / SS / 2B / 1B all locked up long term. Flowers is going to be our catcher for another 2-3 years hopefully. Then its all about third base and the pitching.

BABIP now .488, 125 points higher than last year.

Of course that is an argument against the production and nobody expects him to maintain this pace but I think both have drastically increased the likelihood that they are 2-3 WAR players for the first years of control. Tremendous assets.

Wouldnt be against keeping JD if the numbers were good for both sides.

I’d be for a JD extension for 3 years after this year if he has a good year. Contreras could see a promotion to AA later this year to and if he’s anything like his brother then catching long term is solved also.

Both Pache and Waters sporting swanky BABIPs. Regression coming. And their K rates are concerning. They are very good prospects but there is some smoke and mirrors in their 2019 success.
