REAL FOOTBALL Thread

At least Romo didn't lose you the game. That's a positive. I can't imagine the backlash is a pic 6 cost you that game.

Small consolation. Though Romo didn't have a good game himself. Detroit does get some credit for that.

Offense was just a mess. No running game, because the #1 back can't stay healthy. The offensive line, which has been a mess for years, remains so. The top receiver is a diva and the #2 receiver can't stay healthy.

Just another week for the Dallas Cowboys. And another week they tick me off.

At least I root for Alabama in college football.

They win enough for all your teams. Maybe thats the reason!

Fair enough. With the way the team is playing though the only games I consider tough are the Saints and Hawks.

Knock on wood, those are the only ones that should be; but, it is the NFL after all. Just because they are playing great now, doesn't mean anything for next week, unfortunately. I wish it did and I certainly hope they have ease with the schedule so that they can steal the top spot in the division back from the Hawks.

Only player on the Cowboys I can say I am happy with is Sean Lee. He had a great game.

Other than that, the other players and coaches, I have nothing really good to say.

The Cowboys really had no business being in the game in the first place...

They forced 4 turnovers. How does that not deserve anything? You can't say they don't count. Lee played a monster of a game. Calvin Johnson changed the game for the Lions offense, Lee changed the game for our defense. Hilarious that "they shouldn't have been in the game." Not turning the ball over and forcing 4 = should be in the game.

It's like some of you just started watching football, I swear.

Romo has to be hurt. He looks really off. But, we have no run game (once again) and he was getting clobbered after every play in the first half. He played a solid game with what he was given.

It's pretty clear that Garrett is not the answer. You think any other coaches would let Dez Bryant get away with yelling at teammates and coaches the way he does? For as talented as he is, it's embarrassing the way he carries himself. He needs to grow up, but this staff is not the one he'll do so with. It's also clear the game has passed Monte Kiffin by.

The main problem is the owner. As long as his ego continues to not allow him to get someone to make the football decisions, it's not going to change. He has been trying to show that he can put together a winning team ever since Jimmy Johnson left. The results speak for itself. The way he always puts himself into the decision making, what top coach wants that situation? Besides a Bill Parcells, who which also the game had passed by.

As a Cowboys fan, I am sick and tired of watching this garbage. There is no reason why this can't be a successful franchise. Unless something changes, it won't. Just frustrating.

COULD NOT AGREE MORE.

Jerry Jones is the biggest problem, and has been for a while now. These odd, freak games start at the top - and that's Jerry and Jason. They both need to go. We will win the division, but by default. They will never go anywhere with Jerry and Jason running the show.

Shame to waste a QB like Romo.

Goes to show you how weak the other receivers are after Calvin.

again, that makes no sense. there are a lot of great, young WRs - more than at any time i can remember. CJ, Dez, Demaryius, Julio Jones, Fitz, Andre Johnson, Marshall, etc. There a ton of sick WRs in the game right now. What are you talking about?

Uhh... are you serious?

The Lions had 623 yards. Let me repeat that, 623 yards. That was 355 more yards than the Cowboys got. That's literally an insane number. And that alone, says the Cowboys should have been blown out of the gym.

But the "forced" turnovers you're so happy about - I would say that was Lions giving you 2 of them, and probably 3. In other words, if it weren't for a couple flukey plays, you're not even in the game.

Not to mention the Lions giving up 2 50+ yard passes in a row for TDs based on extremely poor coverages/tackling.

But sure, the Cowboys played great by giving up 623 yards and only gaining 268.

I'll stand by my original comment, you're luckily you were even in position to choke it away

Ok, I'll petition the NFL and say forced turnovers should no longer count. Not sure why they're part of the game, really. They mean nothing.
I didn't say the Cowboys played great. But it's HILARIOUS to say "Oh, they scored two TDs on two bad plays and forced 4 turnovers, but OTHER THAN THOSE HUGE PLAYS, they should have been blown out." Great analysis. Again, did you just started watching football? That's not how football works. Those plays count. They're big plays. Sean Lee played an amazing game on defense and kept them in it, the same way CJ kept the Lions in the game.

But I mean other than Calvin Johnson, the Lions should have been blown out. Am I doing it right?

Not sure if he is hurt, but yeah, he didn't get help from the running game. The O-Line is still bad and Murray can't stay healthy. The line has been neglected for years in the draft, and the results are showing. Romo was taking some serious shots, especially from Fairley.

One player who I forgot to deserves credit is Terrence Williams. He's getting better as a WR and is about to shove Austin out of town.

How can you say Lee didn't force those turnovers? It was all JUST the Lions incompetence? So, do those plays not count, either as Cowboys forcing turnovers, or Lions making them?

When a team forces 4 turnovers and doesn't have any, they will be in the game.

He hasn't had help from the running game...ever.
Marion Barber was really overrated. All of his production came in the 4th quarter after Romo had shredded the defense the first 50 minutes. He's always done it all by himself...hope they trade him to a good franchise and he wins 3 SBs.
