racists really aren't scared to let their racist flag fly these days
Is it really that difficult to say: $35 million potentially means something different and more substantial to a 22-year-old from Curaçao whose family lost their father at age-40—especially relative to someone like, say, Alex Bregman, whose parents are both attorneys in the US? Not sure how that’s so much harder than fumbling into: this brown kid doesn’t understand 85>35. Like, for real: nuance can be hard; but, in this case, it’s not that hard.
Well said. And they talk a lot in safe places.racists really aren't scared to let their racist flag fly these days
Considering I said something extremely ignorant along the lines of "Albies probably doesn't speak English well enough to understand what he signed", I can't really get to frenzied over this kind of comment.
Folks are trying to articulate the idea that Albies was taken advantage of a bit on his deal, and the way they state as much often comes out in ignorant ways that they would probably revise if given the chance.
Which was silly as hell.
It might be ignorant of his situation but I don’t think its racism.
Honestly though, what IS the difference between 85 million and 35 million?
I'm not sure I know. I'd be happy to find out, but not sure it would matter much.
Still, he did not make the right call (Albies).
There is truth to this. Look at lottery winners. Always take the lump sum because the money is so life altering. But the gradual payout is the better way because you get the max amount you can and you learn how to handle the money before you blow through it all. Most people who don’t have money that get a lump sum of money don’t end up with much money in the end because they are not life trained in how to handle that money. So in reality for people with little money, 35 million is not much different than 85 million.

You should put that theory to the test. Go around being an open racist and see how that goes for you.
