Around The Majors 2019

The Royals say they’re ready to trade “nearly anybody.” Any targets? I like Soler and Deikman. Deikman has some walk issues (of course) but misses lots of bats and doesn’t give up many homers.

Diekman is having a good season, but I would rate Will Smith and Tony Watson ahead of him as far as available lefty relievers go.

If Kimbrel ends up in Philly, I'm going to get some torches ready to pass out to the mob I'm leading to SunTrust park.

Lot of teams need bullpen help, so i'd be pretty surprised if the Braves were the high bidder for Kimbrel.

If he went to Philly, i'd hope it was because they overpaid.

Talk about Acuna in MLBTR chat

Charles
6:45 Acuña’s power has seemed to drop off. Has the league adjusted to him and now he needs to readjust? Or is he pressing?
Mark P
6:46 Looking at Acuna's isolated slugging numbers throughout the minor leagues, his current .186 ISO is a lot close to his minors totals than his .259 ISO in 2018 was. It could be that 2018 was his power outlier, at least at this stage in this young career.
6:47 While there's been a power dropoff, Acuna is pretty much the same in average, OBP, and hard-hit balls --- plus, his strikeouts and swinging-strike rate is down from last season.

In short, I think he'll be fine.
6:48 He's definitely not a one-dimensional hitter, which bodes well for his overall development that he is still so productive even without many home runs

Also in same chat, Mark P said that Kimbrel will likely end up with the Phiiiies.

He can sign in 2 hrs, 57 mins!!!

Who is Mark P?

Is he connected?

If he signs for the rest of this year it better be with the Braves.

If he signs for 2.5 years or more, it better not be with the Braves.

The Phillies see our weakness and they have deep pockets... surely they don't let us get him on a short deal

Passan: Jay Bruce is just the start of a Seattle fire sale. The Mariners are looking to deal almost every veteran on their roster, sources tell ESPN, and have shown a willingness to eat significant money in doing so. In the Bruce trade, Seattle guaranteed Philadelphia 87% of money owed.

Too bad the only good piece they have left is Haniger and maybe their catcher

No surprise: #Braves’ Austin Riley is NL Rookie of the Month for May in his first month in the majors. Teammate Mike Soroka was among the other three NL rookies who received votes.

Hell yeah.

For now it's a race between Soroka and Alonso for ROY imo

Phillies beat writer- McCutchen needed to be helped off the field. He could not go down the stairs. He grabbed his left knee immediately.
