Well he hasn’t been winning lately with a rough patch of starts, he really needed these runs in a bad way!

Does anyone think Fried is being judged by anyone who matters by W/L record?

Braves are drawing some good crowds before school lets out.

Might have two consecutive years of increased attendance in the new park. Thats a great sign as they build up the Cobb County area.

And trending the wrong way due to injury.

Meanwhile Washington is now only 3 games under .500... that team could be scary. Need to bury them this weekend.

Yep. They're only 8 games back right now.

But if we leave there 9-10 games ahead it puts pressure on them to try and get past Phillies (who wont gain much ground on us if we keep winning). So those two are gonna be duking it out for 2nd and by the time one of them is solidly in 2nd they will probably be too exhausted to try and overtake us at first.

If we get through Wash and Cubs handily I think that makes us pretty favored to win the Division.

All it takes for our lead to disappear is for the Phillies to go 8-2 and for us to go 4-6. Four games back in baseball is nothing.

What’s more promising is we are now +5 GB in the Wild Card. Having that as a safety net relieves a lot of pressure and should give AA more comfort to focus the deadline on acquiring postseason pieces.

Here's the thing. After the Nats got swept by the Mets they were 19-31. Since then they have gone 16-7. That's a .695 pace and in that time frame have gained a whopping 0.5 games on the Braves. The Nats run of the past month has been met with the Braves going on a similar run. They won't continue to play at that pace. The projections systems still see the Nats as our biggest threat and the slightly better team the rest of the way. But the hole they have put themselves in is significant. Phillies are in trouble though.
