Terrible parenting. Shame that they are knowingly endangering their childrens lives.
But if course the only altenative is open borders which you fully support but wont say you do.

I just want to come to an understanding of what you mean when you refer to wars started by Trump's predecessor. When having a discussion it is useful to understand if someone is using a word in an idiosyncratic way.

since you asked...we have a policy known as metering...which limits how many asylum applicants can cross at legal border crossings...one effect of this policy is to increase crossing attempts that are dangerous...if metering were done away with there would be fewer deaths of migrants trying to get asylum
it seems to me there are more humane ways of enforcing our laws and processing the asylum applications
So we should welcome more people to post fake asylum claims? Fantastic idea.
You know damn well that these are primarily economic migrants.

I am in favor of allocating more resources so that we can more expeditiously process the claims, including deporting those on bogus claims

So-called zero tolerance, family separation, and numerous other deterrence measures that have exacerbated the situation. I’m not sure why you think it’s so salient that the formal family separation policy was ended last year (after an injunction) as the effects of it are still being dealt with and other deterrence measures are stirring the pot. Also not sure what your angle is, since you know the overarching policy is bull**** and just want to direct blame elsewhere.

This is an important essential point. Trump policy has been centered on punitive measures and deterrence. This is part of the reason why, in a time of relatively low border migration, we’re seeing these humanitarian concerns. The whole “crisis” thing is essentially a self-fulfilling prophecy.
