I wish Freddie would have taken more pitches there. Kimbrel was amped up and lost complete control with Swanson. Why swing at the first pitch?
 
I think it’s pretty apparent that Wilson is a two pitch pitcher and will be a great bullpen addition in the near future.
Wouldn’t shock me if he was our closer at some point next year.
I just don’t think he will ever get a 3rd pitch that will allow him to be a good starter.
Hope I’m wrong but that’s why I’ve always been more on the Touki bandwagon then our other guys still in the minors.
His command is the only thing holding him back from being a good rotation option where as Bryce and others just haven’t found that 3rd quality pitch.
Between Bryce and Newk, the next few seasons could be the core of a very good pen.
 
Does anyone get how we are developing Wilson?

We rushed him. He was drafted and most thought he was a RP. He zooms through the minors for some reason. He's a 1-2 pitch pitcher we insist is a starter.

Why not let him develop as a starter and work on a third pitch? If not, why not make him an impact pen arm? I do not get it.

he has been working on a third pitch...he and that third pitch are works in progress...he is only 21
