2019 Trade Deadline Thread:

Braves don’t need a loud winter. quietly add to an already good team.

Just make good smart moves, and if a good player becomes available like a Yelich, Realmuto, etc, make a push.

We do need to make some moves though.

Sure looks like Luhnow *hit all over those value charts today - those explanations sure ought to be interesting.

Was anybody traded today not an overpay???

I wouldnt expect to go after Cole/Rendon, but i dont know if i'd say AA will have a quiet winter. Quite a bit of money comes off the books. Kinda hard to tell until we need options picked up, non-tenders, etc

I dont see any reason to go after anything but elite talent with the depth we have. I think its about time the Braves made some big signings, upped payroll to a more reasonable 160 million, and started trying to win championships instead of division titles. These next 2 years after 2019 I believe are our best chances to win a title. These moves we made this year arent going to get us to a WS.

Me personally i would, i dont see AA doing that though.

I think taking on 14 million and shedding 40 man maybes shows you the off season.

This isn’t going to be a rendon or cole summer.

Jd gets 2/40 or the qo. We try to get a couple 1 year rps.

We expect one of Wilson, touki , newk or Wright to step up into a good cheap 5.

Bring back 1 of gausman, Dallas, Tehran. Sign a 1 year vet arm and expect to add Anderson mid year.

Trade for a rental corner of. Pache up next year.

Needed the 40 man room for pache, Anderson and maintaining pitching depth in weigel, Davidson, etc

Russ has basically said everything I've thought all day, he's just been a lot faster.

Based on today's moves its implicit we will have an opening in the rotation for the young unseeded to fight over during spring training.

Would be nice to see a 10 million payroll bumo and see an opening day payroll of 130 million in 2020.

Based on what McGuirk said a few months ago they are targeting 140m for next year, which works out to about 130m opening day.

Hey the deep master himself makes an appearance.

I’ll do a surplus value call for you later, though you won’t be able to follow

Mookie wont sign an extension before the season, what's the most you'd trade for him?

Melancon trade is terrible for Atlanta.

Marlins and Astros won the day.

Yankees are the big losers. Cashman is such a dork.

AA definitely does not spend money or prospects carelessly. They must have crunched some major data and feel strongly about him for whatever reason.

I “did” notice his era against the Dodgers...
