I really don't think that was on purpose, primarily because by all accounts Urena's own coaches and teammates were pretty pissed at him for the thing before, and were already tired even before that of his headhunting ways... I can't imagine why one of them would decide to escalate it on his behalf while he is hurt. Seems like an umpire overreaction.
