GDT 8/31 - Acuna's Day Off

Last night Acuña couldn't get the ball past a drawn in infield. Sure hope he does better in this RISP situation.

He should if he wins the ERA title.

The fact he's a rookie should help him IMO. Just wish he would have gotten a bit more run support and bullpen help because he should be at 15 wins by now and those voters who still use wins are gonna look at that.
 
Soroka is seventh in the NL in WAR. Among the top 10 in WAR, he is 9th in xFIP. It's a damned nice season, but not a Cy-winning season.

If he had Maxwell's run support he'd have it in the bag by now
 
This isnt Soroka's year. He just doesnt have enough IP and that's not his fault. He has been handled with kid gloves this year. Next year I think he is fully unleashed and puts up similar stats with 220+ IP.
 
Eerily similar to last night. White Sox scratch their way back into the game and then the Braves pull away?

But I'm done with Swarzak. Seriously, he's not at all young and it's been over a year of sub-replacement play. At some point you cut bait.
 
Jeff said the ball died when it hit the grass. Yeah, that tends to happen when you spike it straight into the ground.
