GDT 8/31 - Acuna's Day Off

Jeff said the ball died when it hit the grass. Yeah, that tends to happen when you spike it straight into the ground.

...halfway to first base. I wasn't nearly as impressed with the play as Chip apparently was. I was surprised that Frenchy didn't say how great a play that would've been on astroturf.

I'm going to go out on a limb, and say if Donaldson did that same ****e playing for the other team, Chip would be absolutely frothing at the mouth about how disrespectful it is and how there's never a good reason to show up the pitcher like that.

That's corny as hell.

I've been wondering about the hand thing. First time I saw it I thought something was wrong with his hand.

If our organist did play mockeries for out own players, he could add supercalifragilisticexpialadocious to his playlist now.

Missed the JD homer as I switched over to the Auburn-Oregon CFB game. What was the umbrella call--obviously related to "bringer of rain?"

Chip gave a play by play of Donaldson’s umbrella gimmick as he was rounding the bases, all with the utmost excitement.

Isn't the term "winning the series 'outright'" an exercise in redundancy? Seems to me you either win, lose, or split a series or am I missing something?

I'm only guessing from usage context here, but winning the first two so the final game only determines if it is or isn't a sweep?
