gdt 10.9.19: today the house of cards comes tumbling down

The truth is the Chop is so far divorced from any actual native American tribe that it's a stretch to say it's disrespectful to any of them. A mythos of the Indian warrior was created in American folklore which has grown over time into its own thing. It is this mythos that teams use as a mascot. It's almost like saying a team named the Spartans is offensive to modern Greeks. The mythos that exists around the Spartans has little to do with actual historical Sparta and even less to do with modern Greeks. The same is true here. The mythical Indian warrior has little to do with historical reality and even less to do with modern native American tribes.

Add in the fact that there is absolutely no disrespectful intent and it's really hard to say the Chop is wrong. Helsley can feel offended if he wants but one snowflake's feelings do not constitute a requirement for action on my part.
 
It's been a great series. I have a feeling one of the starting pitchers cracks and gets knocked out early in this one.
 
Pedro just said he expects Flaherty to be better and Folty to be worse. Then he predicted Atlanta to win lol
 
10 minutes before and its just hitting me I can't F'n believe we are having to face Flaherty twice. Dear Lord let this not be a Mark Prior part two
 
I don’t think we win today, but if we somehow pull it off, I believe we go to the WS.
We would have no pressure in the NLCS and Soroka would go twice.
Hope I’m wrong about today but I really believe If this team breaks the curse then we are in it till the end.
