2020 Field

1) that is not necessarily true and rather short sighted

2) please look up the costs of insulin and epipens .
How Much Does an EpiPen Cost? One brand name EpiPen or EpiPen Jr. package (which contains 2 auto-injectors) will cost roughly $650-$700 if you are paying cash, although pharmacy coupons or manufacturers discounts may lower the price.Aug 20, 2018
I personally don't see health care as an investment opportunity and dont think well of those that do

3) Please see Canada

This is a non answer.

I'm engaged to a doctor. I'm an investor in the pharma space. The data is out for the hospitals who cant survive on medicare rates.

You choose ignorance over data. Sad, but nothing new

Math is math. There are three options (this is where you call me paranoid for critical thinking)

1. Doctors need to get paid less to do the same services. This seems far fetched. So likely less people go into medical field. Which reduces quality of physicians

2.pharma companies take less for their life saving drugs. This reduces the incentive for companies to invest in risky life saving drugs. Thus' reducing quality of care

3. Hospitals close because they cant stay in business. This reduces available medical care. Increasing wait times or costs, or reducing care quality to work through the waitlist.

I know I know... paranoid

It's not math. It's a bargaining issue in a market where sellers have market power. Micro 101.

Right.

And I just told you the buyer's options.

Unless of course the buyer will simply take 40% less?

I dont know if you are familiar with something called monopsony power. It is relevant to our discussion.

Also the American health care system is characterized by exceptionally high administrative costs compared to other countries. It doesnt have to be that way.

I dont worry about high cost enterprises going out of business. That's the beauty of capitalism and competition. Businesses are born and die every day. We would be better served without such an expensive gold-plated medical care system.

A few years ago my doctor prescribed a statin. I asked him for a cheaper generic one. He was stunned.

as long as the topic is health care, I started Breaking Bad today.
$90,000 for treatments with no ones knowing if they would be effective (efficient)

Under Sen Sanders plan, we never meet Walter White,Jesse,Skyler or Walt Jr
Begs the question, does life imitate art or does art imitate life
Hmm

Speaking of paranoid... did you see where Beto said that law enforcement would need to take appropriate action against people who wouldnt comply with his gun confiscation?

I know I know... paranoid

Well cops are the ones who say they dont get to pick and choose which laws to enforce....

"The issue is whether the Democratic Party has the guts to stand up

to the healthcare industry which made a $100 billion in profits ...

If we don't have the guts to do that—if all we can do is take their money

—we should be ashamed of ourselves,"

I dont understand what's complicated about the situation. Violence against criminals is the criminals fault....or so we are told..... why is it all of a sudden a bad thing when enforcing gun laws but a good thing when enforcing drug laws. That's some GD bull****. These are the same mother ****ers who cheer violence against marijuana users.

Or the violence against a couple in their 80s who were tossed around by a SWAT team for illegally growing orchids without a federal permit... Break their hips, the scum!

What side of this issue do you believe I fall?

“So you’re going to raise my taxes?”
“Yes, but costs go down so much you end up saving money.”
“So you’re going to raise my taxes?”
“Again, yes, but healthcare will be covered & you’ll ultimately spend less.”
“So you’re going to raise my taxes?”
“Are you an idiot?”
“Yes.”

I doubt we get a M4A in my lifetime but, the willful idiocy of its opponents is alarming.
Perhaps by now, I should be beyond alarm

I'm amazed people taking the side of corporate bureaucracy over elected representative bureaucracy
When you call State Farm or Blue Cross who do you get?
When you call your elected Rep, who do you get?

“Americans already pay a massive ‘tax’ to fund health care,

they say. It just happens to go to private insurance companies,

rather than the federal government.”

If your healthcare costs are $10,000 now

and your taxes are 25%, your total cost is $12,500.

If Medicare For All brings your costs down to $5,000

and your taxes up to 50%, your total cost is $7,500.

Taxes can go UP & total costs can go DOWN.

Don't take the GOP bait.
