116th Congress

Freedom boy: “hey, these fruits are being viewed different from the left. this pear and this grape are the same. Why are they different in your eyes?”

I'd like to know how being concerned about 7 year old getting castrated or a teacher getting fired for using the wrong pronoun is unkind.

Well, the first is a strawman and the second is the kind of accommodation that is associated with lowering the incidence of depression/suicidal ideation of transgender people. LOL at the idea of not thinking that intentionally misgendering someone is unkind.

Castrating a kid isn't a strawman.

He didnt intentionally misgender someone.

But you knew that already.

Castrating a kid isn't a strawman.

that's a rather misleading way to frame it

the parents seem to have a disagreement about how to handle the child's desire to present as a girl (which according to the father is not so)

there is no imminent medical intervention...in fact the mother specifically petitioned that any hormone treatment require the consent of BOTH parents...for now the father seems unlikely to agree

if there is any hormone treatment it is something that will occur at some point in the future with the father's concurrence

but you, thethe and the three "news organizations" who sensationalized this prefer to make it a cause célèbre with shrieks of castration and rape...well done...the hysteria is how shall I put it hysterical

Eh, think you’re wrong on both accounts, but I’m not really breathlessly following the details. Can you give me more info about the latter? If it’s the case I think you’re talking about, I’m pretty sure he did.

Yeah, no, he did. He kept misgendering the kid, finally they complained, he was ordered to stop doing it, he kept doing it, they kept complaining up the ladder, and finally the superintendent went "oh, **** it, we've given you 30 chances, now you're fired." He even admitted it was intentional, claiming his religion forbade him to use the word "his" to refer to that child.

IIRC, the teacher intentionally avoided pronouns in general. Not intentionally using the wrong one.

But hey, its 2019 and were arguing about pronouns so sounds like we've made a lot of progress

I'm against hormone treatments for kids until they are at least old enough to know what they are doing and have gone through puberty. But attacking how a person, even a kid, chooses to present themselves is wrong and there should be school rules/laws against it.

Are you honestly implying anti-semitism over the far more obvious conclusion that she’s referring to billionaires supporting billionaires?

Are you implying the obvious history of antisemitism from her isn't a factor?

She’s quoting a tweet talking about his support for a fellow billionaire in a race increasingly defined by billionaires vs. Warren and Sanders.

Wonder how many times you've accused people of using dogwhistles. Convenient to ignore them for only certain people.

I wonder how many times you have posted fake news here. You are a fake poster. Nothing you post has the slightest bit of credibility. You are a partisan hack.

That district has a PVI (partisan voting index) of +3 Republican. In a neutral political environment the Republicans would be slightly favored. Given recent polling on generic partisan preferences for Congress, the Democrats are probably slightly favored in 2020. It should be one of the more interesting House races of this cycle.
