zito, serious conversation what attracts you to bernie? What policies does he preach that you agree with more so than Biden’s or other moderates in the party? I don’t understand why any hard working person with a basic concept of the economy and how it works is attracted to bernie.

Because a rational person knows he's not going to implement ever policy he's campaigned on.

Won't even get anywhere close.

Bernie is there to counter-balance the Republicans. He'll piss them all off.

As far as what I like about Bernie vs. Biden, Bernie is one of a handful of politicians who seem principled and actually believe what they're saying.

Consider if you will the Iraq War Resolution. Where did Biden vote? Where did Sanders vote?

While Biden, Buttigieg and Warren will say whatever you want to hear to get elected, Bernie has been saying the same thing for years. Bernie isn't perfect, but he's so far ahead of any other 2 party candidate that's out there.

Max Boot thought he had a gotcha on Sanders saying he wanted to abolish the CIA.
Sanders on record going back to 1974 advocating the abolishment of CIA

Perhaps his stance on guns is one place he has changed (flip-flopped ?) but who is left to call him on it ?

As a senator in 1995, former Nixon adviser Daniel Patrick Moynihan introduced a bill to abolish the CIA and reassign its functions to the State Department. In 1960s, Harry Truman and Dean Acheson called for abolishing the agency.

I wasnt alive for McGovern vs Nixon but from what I have read Nixon never polled below 53% and McGovern never over 38%. For context Trump is polling 45% to Bernie's 51%.

As #NevadaCaucus votes were being counted, Bloomberg’s camp attacked, claiming that “if we choose a candidate who appeals to a small base—like
@BernieSanders
—it will be a fatal error.”

Then Sanders swept Nevada, as the candidate with the broadest base.

, (D) that are still living in pre Monica Bill Clinton era.
Think Journey,Kansas and lord forbid Boston were great bands

(D) that opposed Occupy Wall Street and stayed home in 2010 while the TeaParty swept into Congress -- virtually unopposed

or in another era, (D) that favored Hubert Humphrey to Eugene McCarthy

The left can't meme. It really is something how true it is. The right can't chant is also weird how true it is.

Not saying this as a comparison to other nations but, my goodness,

the level of propaganda in USA is incredible. The ruling white elite have

convinced a critical mass to accept a lower quality of life for no reason

other than in service to the illusion that capitalism is freedom.

My dad is a diehard Lib and will vote for any DEMO but he said but said that Bernie isn't. He said he like Charles Manson and David Koreth and he have cult like base and Chump will eat him alive.

He also said and it make sense, Harris, Booker and soon Klubochar will drop, they don't have the money and then Bootleg will follow suit. If Bloopberg did not say bad things in the past it would an easy win. Orange face is going to kill anyone that oppose him and that makes me sick.

His policies are not all bad, but his decorum is the worst of any president we had in our history. He makes us look bad.

Bernie is in some ways stuck in a time warp from 40 years ago. In some ways there is a certain integrity to that. But I also think it will become problematic. There are issues of substance. But there are also stylistic issues. Style and manners matter. Even today. And if you come out of a political tradition prone to labeling people you disagree with "war criminals" and so forth, it will create problems when you try to create a coalition with those people.

of course 40 years ago, Reagan would soon remove the solar panels from the roof of the White House. (D) was building momentum for health care reform. SS was about to come under fire and a huge tax break was in the offing.

40 years ago coming out of Viet Nam Robert McNamara himself later dreflected how close he came to be tried for war crimes .

40 years ago on behalf of the Reagan team George Bush made a trip to Madrid to meet undercover with Iranian diplomats to determine the fate of the hostages.
…….

That covers climate , military policy and middle eastern affairs.
I would offer that we, USA USA, are all stuck in a time warp from 40 years ago.
It appears the "Reagan Revolution" left a lot of strings hanging

Workers rights were stymied with the firing of Air Traffic Controllers starting a pattern of union busting and the abuse of American workers.
…………………….

It appears today Sen Sanders has been quite effective building coalitions.
History tells us he got the same rap while running for mayor of Burlingto, then surprised his critics by how well he built coalitions and dealt with issues like getting the garbage picked up and filling pot holes.

Which I think we can all agree these and other everyday issues have been greatly ignored - in favor of race baiting and tax cuts
Political stances still breathing post Civil War era

Who exactly is Bloombergs base? Republicans?

I was briefly excited by Bloomberg about a month ago, being that he was indeed a former Republican and an Independent. But it's dissipated quite a bit since then.

As far as a potential POTUS, there isn't one candidate I'm thrilled about. But as an option to beat Trump, I find him a better overall option than Biden or Klobuchar, and I think he'd probably do better than Warren as well.
