The Coronavirus, not the beer

I've said around 1/5. That's actually close to the "16x confirmed" that your last article stated. If that holds true, the death rate in NYC is over .5% already. The death rate in Albany, GA would be over .4% as well.

Non urban like (NYC comp) town in mass has 32%.

Why do you think NY/NJ had such drastically different statistics?

I'm not an expert like you guys but I would assume that the NY/NJ area is a really big-assed place where people are literally crammed right on top of each other, even more so than many US cities. Add to that the fact that NY is probably the biggest air travel hub on the east coast and you have a recipe for a lot of sick people in a short period of time.

Just my opinion though.

Large volume of imported infections and a subway system that was the perfect spread hub.

Because it's much smaller town, so the amount infected represents a much higher percent of the population.

But even at 32% in NYC, the death rate is still .5%

Population size is irrelevant other than the spread can reach higher levels of spread because of aggregate count of uninfected.

These were blood tests done to detect antibodies.

Again, population size is irrelevant.

Big reason why every region should be different. Virus would not have grown rapidly in many areas even without mitigation

Piers Morgan rips Trump for ‘failing on almost every level’ with coronavirus briefings and ‘will make him lose election’

PIERS Morgan has ripped into Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic and warns this could mean he could lose the election.

The outspoken host and friend of the president blasted his Covid-19 response as failing “on almost every level”.

In an exclusive interview with CNN host Brian Stelter, Morgan said: "You won’t like me saying this, but I’m going to say it anyway, the President of the United States is an incredibly important person in the world.

"Not least to Americans who are dying in the tens of thousands from a disease that we don’t know much about yet.

"And all that is required from the president in those moments and any world leader, frankly, is they got to be calm, show authority, they have to be honest, they have to be accurate, entirely factual with what they’re telling the people and they have to have an ability to show empathy."

He said: “On almost every level of that, Donald Trump at the moment is failing the American people.

“He’s turning these briefings into a self-aggrandizing, self-justifying, overly defensive politically partisan, almost like a rally to him.

Mitigate at risk.

Its absurd to ask those at virtually no risk to quarantine.

It's absurd to not realize that even those at low risk could be spreaders.

My take is that lots of older people dying of this is inevitable and unfortunately what happens in life. Older people get sick and die. I'm 59 and have a history asthma and pneumonia, though always in the fall. I'm concerned about a second wave in the fall.

I think health care workers and the system (PPE and infrastructure) should be the number one priority, then getting the economy running as much as possible, while still keeping the spread down. Ending the quarantine should be done wisely and a little at a time.

But the heath care system, including supplies, testing, quarantine and effective treatment, has to be the main focus now. American companies should be involved in providing these supplies and get priority over orders abroad as long they can meet necessary standards.

no one knows really

cause we are still 10's of millions of tests behind that he promised would be done 2 weeks ago

weird to think that exchange could look good to some people for the president though

but that's also why he missed being able to stop this or make it less worse and seems to now just be trying to cover up and pass the blame

I think anyone who has the willingness to say "just my opinion though" has a better opinion that someone who goes around shouting that they have all the answers.

Might go out this in the media thread too

No hope for 2 of the ones that need it the most watch though

Oliver kills it

Like usual

NY State to begin anti-body tests this week, so we should know fairly soon a good idea what percentage of the population has it and what the death rate is. It would be nice if thethe were right and half the population had it. I really doubt that's the case though.
