well I've written about what I think is needed...it does not involve the kinds of invasions of privacy that the South Koreans have accepted

there is actually a small cottage industry that has sprung up about how to do contact tracing in a way that safeguards privacy

I should note that I don't think contact tracing is a very practical tool when you have the number of cases we have...at best it can complement in a small way testing on a much larger scale

Sounds like we are months away for nsacpis approval.

Maybe we can make it to 50% unemployment if we try hard enough.

If we are able to save even one life....

as a practical matter we can't keep waiting...we should have made the commitment to massive testing a while back...I think we should make it now...but it is no longer practical to wait until it becomes operational...we have no choice but to keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best...maybe summer weather combined with spontaneous social distancing will buy us time until the fall...i think people will adjust behavior in places where things flare up...but will that be enough...i hope so

Interesting timing on some of the scathing articles about their approach now that the lag on deaths is showing.

Sweden has had more deaths in the past week than FINLAND or Norway has had the entire pandemic. They have had the highest death rate per capita in Europe the past couple weeks. That's what seems to have engaged the attention of Swedes lately.
