MLB optimistic about starting season in late June

Donnie wants to be the "law and order President". Certainly wouldn't want anyone to steal his thunder, but I've always thought of myself as "The Great Uniter" anyway.

You would have to have figured out a way to get all the "pipe dreams" expressed everywhere under one roof and have complete agreement. Sorry, that isn't going to happen, especially on this board.

It's not gonna happen

I pretty much agree. At a time when baseball could be something that helps bring at least a sense or normal to this country, the players and owners basically throw it all away because they can’t check their egos. A lot of fans left and didn’t come back after the 1994-95 strike. It’s going by to be worse this time.

I tend to agree with you. It ****ing sucks.

Expect the balls to be even more juiced in 2021.

If there is a 2021 season. Remember the CBA is set to expire.

Baseball is going to take a huge PR hit if there is no season. Unlike after 94-95, there is no Cal Ripken or a McGwire/Sosa home run record chase to save them. More fans will walk away and never return. But it’s quite obvious Manfred and Clark could not care less

Baseball was always in the toughest situation of being the first sport looking to completely start their season in the COVID era, but they are really screwing it up. NHL and NBA come out looking like saviors because they’re working on ways to finish up their seasons and hold postseasons, even though both will most likely postpone the start of their next season until December or even January. NFL still has a lot of time before their season has to think of starting. MLB was in the lose lose situation but found a way to lose horribly.

I have a friend with inside info that says we're definitely playing. He's heard 82 or a little under. He is working on something for one of the more famous teams.

Don't pay too much attention to the tweets. Too much going on behind the scenes and they are used as leverage.

All they have to do is come to an agreement and have opening day on July 4th. Doesn't seem too complicated.

If there is no season, Manfred and Clark should immediately be fired and strung out to dry.

With not just Covid-19, but all of the other things we face right now as a nation, we need baseball.

Especially since all the players have to report to Spring Training 2.0 by about June 15th so they're "ready".

Covid isn't a threat anymore so not sure what the problem is here

lol

Cases are already rebounding in the face of phased reopenings, and that’s only going to get worse with folks packed onto city streets and (especially) municipal jails.

That’s cute. I love when people drop “inside info” and have absolutely no “inside info.” Just makes you feel all big on an internet message Baird doesn’t it?

That’s the sad part. If this season doesn’t happen, they will likely lose most of the next season. I can’t imagine the ill will between sides.

That would be two lost years of Acuna. Two lost years of development for our young pitchers. Devastating.
