REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I was going to give that comment a pass. Glad someone caught it...because its looney.

I mean, what do you expect? This is someone who said that Kaep wouldn't be in the NFL in two years. He is the biggest negative fan on the forum. Well within his right but I will never understand the negative fan.

Cousins doesn't breakdown and think the world is ending when he is pressured though. Griffin has the athletic ability and has a strong arm, but as far as accuracy and smarts Cousins has the advantage. It also seems like Cousins commands and runs the offense a little better too.

Giles or Matt maybe you could elaborate some because my view is biased and I don't watch the Redskins regularly.

You are certainly biased. Cousins does scan the field better, but they are similar in accuracy. RG3 has the stronger arm and probably a bit more accurate (when healthy and can sit on his throws). Cousins has a little too much Eli in him and I hope he gets it out of his system. He forces too many throws and locks in on receivers. I hope he rips up Dallas and the Giants, that would be a fun ending to the season.

Cousins locks in on receivers? What the hell do you call what RG3 does?

Redskins receivers by targets

Garcon - 155
Moss - 69
Reed - 59
Hankerson - 48

I'll stop there of course.

You guys are going overboard. If RG3 is healthy the Redskins are a playoff team. The guy was playing at 50% all year. It was just a stupid decision to play him at all this year.

LOL. Comparing Garcon to guys that have played half the year. What Cousins does at times is lock onto his primary receiver, whether its Garcon or whoever the first read is(you suck at comprehending). Thus he forces the throws at times, see twice yesterday.

Debatable, the read option crap isn't working this year.

Its not working as well as it did last year, thats for sure but Griffin was elusive and was able to buy time. He can't even run away from defensive lineman right now. He can't put anything into his throws. Its just not fair to pile on RG3 this year. What it did show was that he needs work on his pocket passing and his attitude but that will come.

You should probably check the stats on how the read option has performed, both with the Skins as well as other teams in the NFL.

I remember last year you were claiming the "pistol offense" was a gimmick offense. LOLz. Even Peyton runs that "gimmick offense" now.

Worked great, to the tune of a 3-11 record.

Lulz. I know what it means to lock into receivers

"This should be alarming to Washington, because it factors into the amount (and severity) of hits RG3 takes. Last season Griffin absorbed many big hits at the end of scrambles. He scrambled because he was a one-read quarterback, meaning he tucked the ball and ran if his initial receiver wasn’t open. "

He's a classic runner. He's Vick. He could change of course. But right now, he's not there.

Having the worst special teams in NFL history (no exaggeration) and the worst defense in the NFL sure contributed, no?

Going into this week the 3 least efficient defenses in the NFL are San Diego, Green Bay, and Dallas. 3 worst passing are San Diego, Green Bay, and Atlanta. 3 worst running are San Diego, Chicago, and Dallas.

RG3 locks onto receivers as well, remind me when I said he hasn't? Breaking down his terrible game vs. Denver doesn't mean anything.

Vick is a career 56% passer with 7.09 ypa. 128 td/85 int.
RG3 is a career 63% passer with 7.5 ypa. 36 td/17 int.

RG3's 2013 down season is better than Vicks career and better than almost all of his individual seasons. This despite playing on a surgically repaired ACL.

Zito, you have your own issues. The Falcons signed Matt Ryan to a 100 million dollar deal and you see what happens when he doesnt have Julio Jones to throw the ball to. LOL. Ryan got outplayed by a backup QB making his 2nd career start. The LULZ!
