I mean, Markakis worked himself into a good count and hammered the ball the opposite way, while Riley took a two-strike fastball and smoked it up the middle. Duvall was terrible, naturally, but two guys just had bad luck at an inopportune time. Everyone in that inning who wasn't named "Adam Duvall" had a good approach.

Duvall had a rough series vs the Reds was abysmal. He swung at an offspeed pitch for strike 3 that damn near bounced in the opposite batters box.

Not really. If it drops and fielded cleanly he's a sure out at home if he's on the bag. And it's like a hit 99% of the time.

You are correct. It was pretty damn shallow, but the LF was on the ground when he caught the ball.

This offense isn't going to get it done against good teams. Their pitching has carried them, but it's been terrible situational hitting and consistently bad ABs outside of 1 game.

People seem to forget that LF is only 315 ft away and the OFers are essentially playing a rover in LF to LH hitters.

Just watched the replay. No way he's out a home if it drops. Especially given that Dickerson doesn't have a particularly good arm. Poor base running there.
