REAL FOOTBALL Thread

We should all conspire ourselves lucky. We will get to see Andrew Luck's entire career. Guy is gonna go down as one of the best.

Let Luck be in the 25% of today's QBs before you put him near one of the GOATs

25% I assume you mean like the top 8? Not expanding it for other QBs used during a season where you usually wind up with 40 or so?

He's not quite there yet, but then again, Peyton wasn't there in his second year either.

But Peyton was far better in year 2 than Luck is now. But, let's see if Luck gets some upgraded weapons.

He is top 8, hell maybe even top 5. Peyton, Rodgers, Brees, and Brady are the top 4. Everyone will agree on this. After them it's not as cut and dry, but Romo, Ryan, Rivers, Roethlisberger, and Luck are probably the next tier. I'd put Luck 6th or 7th at worst.

I'm not saying luck is bad to anything, but people are saying how great he is based on talent and draft position, not performance to date.

Even Zito neglects his favorite rating (for Ryan) when saying Luck has been very good

So the announcers would rather give the colts first and goal on the 2 yard line over giving them a safety and kicking them the ball? First and goal is almost a guaranteed 3 points if not 7. Do they think its a foregone conclusion the colts score a td to end the half?

He has been. I weigh a variety of stats. He has been only above average according to DYAR but he excels further in QBR which factors in his comebacks more heavily. And there is value in those. And this year IIRC he was much higher in DYAR before Wayne went down.

Yeah he would have been better off if anything trying to throw the ball towards a receiver at the line. But that's not a bad conclusion. It's only bad after the fact if Indy scores a TD here. If they don't then it' sthe right play

I don't care where he was drafted. He took a Colts team to the playoffs last season after they stunk like poop to get get the 1st pick.

Luck passing stats through his first two seasons. 46 TD, 27 INT, and 8,196 yards. Peyton Manning had 52 TD, 43 INT, and 7,874 yards. I didn't even look at rushing stats either.
