Nut punched #2 against our erstwhile vaunted outfield offense.

Something tells me they love baseball more than Uptons & Heyward combined.

Don't get me wrong I like him as a player, I think he's gonna be a superstar someday but he's not there yet, not by a long shot.

Kid has insane talent, but he should be sniffing the All-Star game, if for no reason other than he's not qualified. Same reason I don't think Puig should be there. How in god's name Wonderdouche makes it but Choo or Starling Marte doesn't is beyond. Starting OF should have been, Gomez, Cargo and Cutch or if you go offense Gomez, Cargo, and Beltran/Choo one of those 2 who isn't fielding worth a damn but hitting well. If you take 6 NL Outfielders you take the 5 I listed above and Fowler or Cuddyer depending on if Cutch starts or is on the bench. Wonderdouche or Puig doesn't sniff the ASG for me.

somebody needs to enlighten me re these "doesn't love baseball" lines.

Bill infamously once suggested that Heyward doesn't love baseball which is the cause of him not playing through injuries or reaching his potential. I think it all stemmed from Heyward not giving Bill an "energetic" interview from when he broke camp at 20.

Man, it sure is nice to have the Nationals suck as much as they are now. Never thought we would ever be in first at this point in the year eevn by just 1 game.

Hopefully the Nats start to panic and make bad moves.

It goes back to Bill Shanks questioning Heyward's love for the game of baseball (see below).

@BillShanks
@skinnyswag16 --- Again, I wrote that I would LISTEN to an offer. What's wrong with listening? I have doubts if Heyward even loves baseball.

I think that is the one thing we can't count on. I do think the Nats front office is pretty smart on most things. I think anyone that would stick to their guns about pitch counts like they did last year, isn't apt to make a panic move.

Now if they'd just make MASN get rid of Bob Carpenter and FP Santagelo, I could watch Nats/Braves games without wanting to throw items at the tv. (in that part of NC where I have no choice even when I pay lots of money each year for Extra Innings when the Nats/Braves play.) Of course, Chip Caray isn't much better!

Still amazes me he said that, what a stupid thing to say.

Minor giving us 7 innings last night was huge after his rough start. Early last year he wouldn't have been able to do that.

Agreed.

He's so underrated around the league, and I feel even a little on here. I see no reason why he can't eventually be a Cliff Lee type. The big difference between them is Lee would go CG a lot, but Minor is still young. Lee wasn't even near this good at Minor's age. The kid is stud. Which is why I thought someone taking Turner over him was odd. Minor is already a gem.

And Lee went through a stage in his career when he was just awful and even had to be sent down if I remember correctly. I don't know if Minor will ever be that good, but I'll certainly take the Minor we have right now.
